I have one but can't use it. Doesn't work right. Clutch gets so hot it's melting the plastic mudskipper housing over the clutch. The belt feels like it's jumping. I regret buying it.

I have the same setup but can't use it because something isn't right with the clutch and belt. Very aggravating. No directions on how to tighten the belt either. No video nothing.

There is a stainless hex bolt on the back of the unit that you use to tighten/loosen the belt but if you're having issues, please email us some photos/video of the issue you're having to [email protected]

Is that a 1648. I have a 1636 and wanting the same engine. I was afraid the 15hp featherlight wouldn’t be enough for my 1636 but seeing this video is changing my mind.

The Sport kit predates the Feather Lite kit by several years. The Sport kit has a longer, cast aluminum housing whereas the Feather Lite is welded aluminum. Both kits share the same clutch and propeller but use different sized belts. The Sport kit has two transom options, short shaft and tall shaft

Mud-Skipper offers a vastly superior long tail for less. Don't overpay. The Mud-Skipper long tail uses sealed roller bearings throughout the prop shaft, no wood or plastic bushings that need constant replacing and again, its $100 less

I just bought one and added the 15 hp predator motor. Something is definitely wrong with it. There are no directions on how to tighten the belt. Had to go to Mud buddy videos to see how. It still isn't right. Brand new and I can't even use it.

No, the oil seals do that part. The grease is to keep the bearings lubricated and turning smoothly
