So for the motor shimming. While working with after market parts. You can attach the grip to the gearbox outside of your reciever and shim it that way. Then make sure your grip has a small tiny (.1mm or so) gap between the reciever and pistol grip when assembled. This way you take the reciever tolerances out of the equation and it becomes way easier to work with. If theres no gap. Then you just sand the pistol grips top and front contact surfaces down till there is.

Thanks for your comment. Yeah thats something that can be done, but it's very "custom worky" and it's difficult to for sure test things this way. Best thing is to just have body parts that are designed to fit together.

Great video! I am close to your method but I keep the cut off installed as I had issued with some manufacturers. The cut of had a very thick flank resulting in scratching the side of the sector gear. And I love you for explaining it has not to be perfect! This isn´t rocket science and cold weather could kill a tightly shimmed gearbox.

After two major BB tests in Germany with some dozens of brands there is another factor you might to consider: Balance or unbalance of the BB product. Most manufacturer use one kind of material for all different weights by adding air injections. If these are out of center the BBs starts to coast resulting in inaccuracy. Also the diameter of the BBs in general spread from 5.8 to 6.1. Diameter effects the fps and accuracy. But ceteris paribus your factors are correct.
@PerfectAirsoft
@PerfectAirsoft Ай бұрын
Well, BB's with that amount of difference are defective, and i would only consider ever using 5.95mm with good tolerance. The same goes for uneven molded BB's. It is not really a "factor" to change, more like a defective BB.

It would be great to see a scientific approach to how to increase range and accuracy. Why is RHop more efficient than standard hop? Does the degree of bucking change performance or only durability of the bucking’s longevity? It would be nice to cover all of this in a video.
@martinbeckenbach7170
@martinbeckenbach7170 Ай бұрын
The degree of the bucking changes the friction in relation to the temperature. So in cold weather a softer bucking performs better than a harder one. The degree should be in balance to the power of the gun and the BB weight. As the video mentions to much spin results in climbing BBs. So when you are using lighter BBs in strong guns you need a harder bucking. Not that simple. ;)

I sometimes add a moltiplicator of 0.8-0.9 for neo motor, 0.7-0.8 for standard motors, brushess are different from brand to brand ranging from 0.8 to 1.0. I started to add this to my calcutation when the build is high rps (over 35) or high power due to the speed-torque curve of the various motors. It sometimes can correct the calcutation when battery with mediocre output current capacity is used.

That's a good approach. I also mention this in the videos, that there's some differences to the expected results, especially at the extreme ends. It is also seen sometimes that people make wrong highspeed setups (HS motor + HS gear), but the gun still works because the tiny battery makes the RPS low lol.

In an isolated system Two BBs with Same weight, leaving the barrel at the exact same speed and exact same backspin will go to the exact same place. Physics do not care if you like gbb recoil or hpa lines or AEGs.

FPS or Joule doesn't give more range, the backspin from the applied hop gives the range on the bb used. The bb hitting you hard isn't from the fps, fps speed is just how fast it will travel not the impact power. Turn the hop off on your gun and just using different power springs and one weight of bb say 0.3g check will the bb travel more distance with only changing the power without applying any backspin.
@PerfectAirsoft

your point about gearbox angle reminds me of the G&G SR25 series where the angle of the gearbox is determined by a weird screw assembly between the gearbox and the lower that the stock screws into as well. I found setting the correct gearbox attitude with them almost impossible and actually had the best results removing the threaded extension that attached them to the spring guide so the gearbox's attitude wasn't affected by the stock at all. Between the rear pin, trigger pin, grip and hop unit the gearbox ends up sitting in the best position for feeding and airseal that way.

Yep it is a very basic video, it's the fundamentals :D But as basic as it seems, plenty of people can't grasp this, myself included many years ago. It took ages for people to figure out how RHOP worked. You're right about those other points, but they're not factors that we as end users have a control other. Or they're not relevant on an average scenario basis. Eg. if you talk about how far a BB flies, it's assumed we measure in a zero-wind environment, or at a common altitude.

Why do you assume that conical nozzles are by default longer than flat ones? A 21.15 conical is the same lenght as a 21.15 flat I get the point where a conical nozzle needs to be longer than a flat one to interface with the same bucking but who says you need to use the same bucking? The bagadi shp/mhp series of buckings are designed to interface with conical nozzles at the same lenght as flat ones I don't wanna disprove your video or something but a pointy thing is allways better at pushing other things to the side than a flat thing and the conical interface if done right offers at least like 20% more contact area between nozzle/bucking and is less prone to leak air in case the nozzle contacts the bucking off center so thei are kinda good imo
@PerfectAirsoft
@PerfectAirsoft 2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. You're right that a conical nozzle has an easier time entering / going over the BB stack, i highlight this in the video. My experience is that, barring midcap syndrome, flat nozzles seal better and feed better. Surprisingly, sealing on the front of the bucking lips work very well and has a consistent airseal on the whole surface area. A conicai nozzle will, in theory, suffer easier blowby the moment it's not centered. A conical needs to be longer by definition. If you take a flat nozzle that is sealing, and shave it down to a conical shape, it will no longer seal. Sealing at the front of the bucking lips is the shortest movement to sealing, and any other method requires a longer nozzle. Looking at the begadi bucking drawings, they seem to have narrowed the inside of the bucking lips. This is a no-go, as it can cause jams, and additionally, lips are soft and can expand outwards, so ultimately the sideways airseal is decided by the lips being squeezed between nozzle and chamber wall.

Nice vid, i like to shim pinion and bevel first, it's just how i learned it, might try it this way and see the difference, the only thing that i don't think that is checked here is the contact area between the teeth of the bevel and spur gear.
@PerfectAirsoft
@PerfectAirsoft 3 ай бұрын
Thanks for commenting. Yeah you're right, it's not touched on per say. But that's because that it's the last link in the shimming steps. The bevel is defined by the pinion mesh, and the spur is defined by the sector which is defined by the piston / tappet. So the intention is simply to hope that the spur and bevel matches OK, and if they don't, use different parts. There has to be a compromise in the system, and it's best to do it there.

There's room for everyone. I take bevel last, but there's no problem in doing bevel first really.
