Super cool oven if I didn't know better I would of thought you guys bought it, but one suggestion how about installing a mini oven glass window.
@TheChrisey11 күн бұрын
That is pretty neat. Once I have enough space, I will be building a bigger oven too. I was thinking about using Infrared heaters instead of oven heaters though, since they are dirt cheap and easily available here.

if u use dawn soap and formula 88° degreaser from Home Depot you wont have to do any of that just run in for 1-3 times 30 mins each even if its really really rusty and looks like it should go in the trash it will clean just about evrything off if it really bad but what that carb u did 1-2 times everything would hve looked new with out even touching it im a small engine repair shop i thought i would just share

I have been watching a lot of sheet metal breaks DIY, and why do they make a triangle support with a middle nut. What's the purpose of this. I'm a beginner still learning.

I made mine out of a Ball Jar and drilled the 4 holes in the lid only. The Ball jar is what your wife uses to can food in for the winter. It should seal really well and is super cheap to replace if it breaks. You can also see thru the glass jar and see what is going on inside real easy. I used JB weld to glue the air line fittings into the thin ball jar lid and used insulated banana jacks to carry the power thru the lid. The only thing I had to buy was the 22 gauge Nichrome wire from Amazon for about 9 bucks. I know I have a vacuum leak at the rear end of my engine somewhere. hoping it's not the intake manifold gaskets, but we will see. Great video! You might mention that some cars may have a couple of one way valves in the vacuum line between say the brake booster/evap system/ and the intake manifold, so you would have to bypass the one way valve with the smoke test to see if the brake booster could also have a vacuum leak. Otherwise the one way valve will stop the smoke from escaping and you would think everything was OK. By the way - Super camera work with that leak on top of the gas tank! I know it wasn't easy to get that shot!

I would suggest having the temperature probe a little lower - so it isn't measuring the highest temperature, but more of an average temp

I put a vortech supercharger on mine with around 15 lbs of boost. A ton of other mods like ford performance intake, long tube headers, h-pipe with flowmaster mufflers. Bigger fuel pump with much bigger injectors. A little bit of suspension work. Sub frame connectors, up and lower control arms. A center force duel friction clutch with short throw shifter. I know there's things I'm forgetting but it was a beast back in the day. Everytime I ran the 1\4 mile I would power shift every gear and I never missed. Even if I would of it wouldn't of hurt nothing because the shifter had stops so you wouldn't bend the shift forks no matter how hard you pulled on it and then there is the rev limiter so you wouldn't rev it past redline

beautiful job, gets the job done. Galvanized..?..I personally think its ok, the interior doesn't vent out and the exterior is insulated from reaching above 480. Having said that I woould have used regular sheet metal and used a high heat paint to insulate and protect, but respects for getting it done. the little guy usually doesnt go any where because Abraham Lincoln says we cant:) Wondering if 240v might have been better to drop the emparage..
@tiaan_va6 ай бұрын
You are slowly killing yourself by having an oven where the heated interior is surrounded by galvanised sheets. The zinc release odourless and toxic fumes at high temps. I'd strongly advise you not to advise your audience to do the same
@Moparmanic906 ай бұрын
What material would you recommend
@tiaan_va6 ай бұрын
@@Moparmanic90 Just normal plain mild steel sheets of the same thickness will be fine and is usually cheaper since it's not covered in a layer of zinc.

@@tiaan_va man thats so true , thats why kitchen ovens are a thin steel and not galvanized . but wouldnt some kind of air vent sucking out the shop help with that ?
@formula74143 ай бұрын
Powder coating ovens dont reach the temps needed for the galvanized coating to melt or start off gassing. Typically they cook at 400 degrees or less...Galvanized doesnt start off gassing until up over 600.
@tiaan_va3 ай бұрын
@@formula7414 I don't think you know how ovens and heating elements work.... You do realize that the heating elements themselves are much much hotter than the air temperature at which the items inside are 'cooking' at right? The heating elements are either on 100% or on 0%, you can't adjust their heat. The heat control is for the thermostat and once the air temp reaches a certain temp then the elements get turned off. And this cycle of going off and on will continue to keep the air temp consistent. A heating element (or any piece of metal really) won't even start to glow red until it is 500 degrees Celsius, did you know that? Heating elements like these easily reach 600C and they are in very close proximity of the galvanized coating on the steel behind it
