Thank you for a very nice informative video. The reason I am searching is, this week driving at work I saw one of these. The first one I had ever seen. Never seen any advertisement or anything. & that’s over 3 years researching bikes. Been riding just 3 years. I had no idea what it was. I was hoping to get the riders attention but he’d gone a car in front before I could ask. But thankfully I did clock the badge. Googled & found the bike. That bike is good looking! I own a Yamaha at present. My concern is Italian realisability. Yours & a few other videos are convincing me otherwise bar the minor issues. Loved the comment on exclusivity / seen 4 in captivity but not in the wild sums it up. I have seen just one in captivity. I want one! That is one good looking bike! Cheers! Liked & subscribed….

great comparing and good points on all. I have a 92 VFR in black and, my brother--it is gorgeous compared to either all red or the crazy confetti color scheme on the Fireblade. That said--I would miss the wind protection on the legs, but love to feel the difference in lightweight handling and power of the Blade. Perhaps I will find room in the garage for one sometime soon. All black would be a nice match for ol' Darth VFR!! Congrats on owning 2 amazing bikes. ✌️

Hello. I enjoyed that very much. I served my apprentice at R.A.F Scampton about three hundred years ago. I am organising a ride out with my friends, and wondered if you could share your route in detail. We were thinking we would start off from Woodhall spa and make our way up to Hemswell, Scampton and the museum. So, any advice on roads to use would be great. Thank you.

you mentioned bolts on exhaust, well stainless steel works up to 450°C, after that temperature carbon and chrome mix together into chrome carbide ceramics and destroy austenitic structure of stainless steel...so stainless steel wont work with hot stuff like exhaust and regular carbon steel (which rusts) is better choice

I have a '21 Centenario and I have had it lowered by 20mm on the forks and fitted a Hyperpro lowered spring at the rear and fitted the Comfort lowered seat. I am 5'4"! I find the bike heavy only when manoeuvring it at walking pace. It is well balanced and easy to get up onto its centre stand but once moving the weight vanishes. It handles well and it has taken me to the Edges of Europe and as far south as the Moroccan Sahara desert. I love it! The first day I arrived at Zell am See approx. 750 km, the next day via Glossglockner to Italy to the sea approx. 350 km by mountain roads, the third day via Slovenia and Triglav to Austria approx. 450 km, the last day 500 km back to the Czech Republic. The bike handled it perfectly and I am very satisfied. My companions on this trip were the Yamaha MT-07 and 09. They were quite amazed at what the old lady RC36 could handle.

2020 v85 tt bought in June with 6400k on it. 10,250 now. Bought it for ease of maintaining and 300lb lighter than what I'd been on. 2 1/2 hrs for my first valve adj, guessing 1 1/2 next time. Cheap windsheild deflector and made some deflectors for between tank and bars. Eliminated turbulence. Bike handles great compared to the slaveships I've been pushing around corners for the past 50 yrs. 27 yrs on my 62 FLH and 23 on a '99 Ultra. Great dependable bikes for me doing my own work on them. Spent an 11 hr day on it (not normal for me these days) and was amazed at the comfort. 51 mph on reg gas at 70mph. Love the bike.

Good commentary, Alan! I have a '22 which I bought new in April '23, nearly 17k miles now on it. I've never had a problem with the neutral to first shift, but occasionally it's hard to find N from 1st. On your other major nitpicks, I agree - the stock windscreen is terrible at speed, even worse in the upper position. I've tried 2 aftermarket with only slight improvement. Both noise and buffeting are more than I'd like. I also agree with your other point, it's pretty top heavy and a beast paddling around. Have to pay attention at stop lights and signs too! With a passenger it was nearly unmanageable. Otherwise I love it! Could use more power, but what bike couldn't?! Finally, I think they sorted the fueling problems, mine is really good.

Thanks for your comment. I have been pondering (over the festive period) whether its worth investing in a Mistral end can, decat pipe and air filter etc (maybe the booster plug too ) but that's an investment well over £1k! But it would shed a chunk of high carried weight, clean up the fuelling and give a 2hp kick? As I say, I'm pondering.

A few holes in your commentary. Soon after Hemswell you passed former RAF Ingham, which now features a museum and memorial to Polish airmen stationed there. The graveyard at Scampton includes a small row of CWGC headstones marking the resting place of the nine man crew of a German aircraft. Just round the corner is the Dambusters public house, so named for obvious reasons. Also, the unfortunate individuals who cross the channel in small boats are not illegal immigrants unless they stay on after refusal of their asylum application, despite what Daily Mail "disinformation" may suggest.

I have a '23 V7 Stone Special Edition, and a '24 V100 Mandello Aviazione Navale (my sixth and seventh Guzzis over the last 40 years). Riding these bikes back-to-back is like night and day. The V7 has a smoother transmission, and yes, my V100 "clunks" going into first gear from a stop. I have the big-bore Agostini headers, y-pipe (no cat), and Mistral muffler with the dB killer still in it on the V100. I haven't noticed any "hunting" like you mentioned, but I've only put 300 miles on my V100 over the last five months. Here in the States, I think there are less than 30 Guzzi dealers for the whole country, so it's not a bike you're likely to see another one of riding around. Luckily for me, I have a Guzzi dealer about an hour away, so that's a definite plus. Guzzis are certainly niche bikes, and won't win any comparison tests on paper with competitors from Japan, Italy, UK, or Germany. But if you want a bike that oozes character, has "soul", and will make you smile every time you ride it, I'd highly recommend a Guzzi. I would absolutely buy either one of my Guzzis again!

I've had an RC24, 2x 36, 2x 46, an early vtech and now the RC79 800F (not to mention Pan 11 and 13). Fi was the best and regret selling both ! The 2016 800F is clearly more modern, brakes are a huge improvement, it has some electronics and refined vtech, but its still just an Fi revisited. Power is subjective to say the least, there is nothing gutless about any of them and not having huge torque allows decent control in poor conditions without needing any fancy electronics. Overall, the reason most people ride a VFR of any era is not from comparing it to other bikes, it's purely the experience of a fine piece of engineering and a glorious engine. Any bike is relevant if you enjoy it.

I’ve had the S version for 1 year too. It was in the shop for 1 month to replace a coolant pipe that had a pinhole leak in it. Otherwise, I haven’t experienced any other problems with the motorcycle. I really like it and I don’t have any buyers remorse. It’s a joy to ride! It’s my left calf that cooks a little on very hot days and I’m working on something to help with that. I agree that the fuel range indicator shouldn’t be relied upon. I refuel every 180-200 miles. The lurch forward when engaging 1st gear is just a Guzzi character trait lol. The Ohlins suspension delivers a superb ride! I have 7,800 miles on the bike. I did have to install a California Scientific large windscreen to make it suitable for all day trips. My average fuel economy is 50 miles per US gallon.

Nice review! I am a 60 year old owner of a 23' Trident. I started out on minibikes as a 7 year old and have been riding ever since. I've owned scores of bikes, and there are not many bikes I haven't at the least, taken a spin on. As an off the shelf bike, in my opinion, the Trident is as good as it gets. Sure, you can always find little things that could be tweaked on any bike... but as top tier daily rider/back road carver, the Trident is hard to beat. I will echo the sentiment that the quick shift/auto blipper is a must have option; aside from that, the bike is as close to perfect as an all arounder gets. The bike loves to be ridden with purpose. It absolutely shines when you keep it above 4k rpm. You paid for 10k revs so use them. When I hear reviewers complaining about throttle response; well, that just tells me that they don't know how to ride and shift a triple. Do not baby the 3 cylinder, because that is not how they work. One thing that you forgot to mention? Triumph included a slipper clutch to protect you from botched shifts and allow you to aggressively downshift with ease. The TC is basic and not too obtrusive. It does its job and keeps things tidy while allowing a good rider to push the bike without noticeable interference. You can certainly turn it off, but you are taking away from the overall capability of bike. MotoGP rides TC and so should you. Don't even get me started on anyone who claims that 80 hp in this trim is not enough. The Trident is not a track bike, that is not what it was designed for. The Trident is what a naked bike is supposed to be. The Trident is also not really a beginner bike as I have seen some reviews claim. I would suggest that someone should spend time on a much more tame (forgiving) machine as their first road bike. This motorcycle allows a less, but still, experienced rider to have an enjoyable, confidence inspiring ride while offering an experienced rider a highly capable machine that can be pushed hard. The bike is weaponized fun.
