I don't think UWB has anything to do with Google Find My Device network. Most Android phone don't have UWB antenna, the UWB only helps the owner (if his phone has UWB antenna) find the device when the tag is nearby (e.g. 10 meters). The Find My Device networks (any other nearby Androids) works with Bluetooth only. This should be the same as Apple did.

Hi there and thanks for your comment. Samsung phones going back to the S22 series and Pixel devices going back to the Pixel 6 all support UWB capabilities. The Samsung devices with the SmartTag2 use UWB on their trackers. Google's FMD network currently doesn't support the network protocol but they are going to be implementing it, I just haven't been able to find out when. Supposedly it was going to be enabled by the end of 2024 but to my knowledge that hasn't happened.

Can’t get it to pair. Pain in the back side
@GadgetguyzGadgets
@GadgetguyzGadgets 2 күн бұрын
Hi there. I bet the issue is with the Wi-Fi trying to force it to the 5G network. All of these wi-fi enabled smart devices only seem to support the 2.4G band. It's not just MyQ, most all do that and it's so irritating. Not sure what type of network equipment you have but, if you go back to my original video, I had the same issue and had to connect my phone to my 2.4 network and then the keypad paired with no issues. If you are able to temporarily only broadcast on the 2.4 that will more than likely solve the issue. Once connected you can put it back like it was and it will work just fine. It just seems to be the initial pairing that has the problem selecting the proper band. I'd be happy to help if I can.

Also the mixer has some built in RGB which syncs with my existing Steel Series RGB mat, mouse and keyboard which I like. This is a great sounding mic and has really nice software that allows a lot of customization. Agreed it doesn't look as clean as some of the others but it sounds great. I have replaced my mic arm since this video was made to a Neewer low profile and have the mic sitting lower and not as in the way as this video. You can see it on some of my more recent videos. Great video I just have one question? Can you drill behind the mount face plate and push the wires through the back so you don’t see any wires?
@GadgetguyzGadgets
@GadgetguyzGadgets 6 күн бұрын
Hi there and thanks for watching and your kind words. The only thing stopping you from hiding the wires completely is what you are mounting it to. If I were to drill a hole in my garage door frame you wouldn't see any of the wires on the outside. The whole in the mounting plate goes all the way through to the back of the camera. At the 7:05 timestamp you can see the hole that goes all the way through the plate so if there were a hole in the area where I mounted it you'd never see the wires. Hope that answers your question and thanks again for watching and commenting!

Samsung Smart Tag 2 vs Pebblebee : I am using both Samsung Smart Tag 2's, Samsung Smart Tag +'s and the Pebblebee Universal ( the one that goes well on keyrings ). My observations thus far, considering I've been using Samsung Smart Tag 2's and Samsung Smart Tag+'s for quite a while and the Pebblebee Universal for a relatively short time: What the Pebblebee excels at - is attaching to keyrings if you misplace keyrings - the PebbleBee with it's VERY LOUD chirp, and it's FLASHING LIGHTS - makes a wonderful way to find your keys when you misplace them, or if they fall under something, etc and the keys are somewhat close. This is REALLY where it shines. Conversely, with the SmartTags, you have to have a relatively quiet room and listen for the beep/noise from the unit to find anything; and if there's something else playing in the room, well, good luck.. Samsung Smart Tag 2's, and the Samsung Smart Tag +'s are better at tracking. But the BIG DOWNSIDE of the Samsung devices is that CR2032 battery. New out of the box, rarely does the original battery last longer than a month TOPS. And it seems that at 4 to 5 months - is more like what I get out of a set of batteries afterwards. It's such a problem with the batteries dying that I often put two tags on the same item and try to stagger when I change out the batteries. While changing out a battery is not difficullt, CR2032's are not always known quantities; sometimes you get fresh batteries, and sometimes those batteries seem to be aged when you get them. That is the Achilles Heel of the Samsung devices. The other downside is that the noise from making it sing its little song - well it's not that loud either; you need a relatively quiet room to find it. Rechargable batteries; I hope that the Pebblebees do better as far as how long the charge lasts; I don't know yet. Personally, I'd rather charge the device than dismantle the device to swap out the battery... The other Pebblebees - use a proprietary magnetic charging cables - a cable that I'm likely to lose in a month or two, let alone 6 to 8 months.. So, I probably won't be buying those particular Pebblebees. The unstated option: Sticking a Pebblebee and Smart Tag 2 on the same item; Use the loudness of the Pebblebee ( and maybe the flashing light ) when you can; use the Samsung for its better location tracking.. Reality, I'd probably have at least 2 Smart Tags on an item and maybe the Pebblebee.. The Smart Tags work well, if you put in a fresh battery, keep track of when you put the battery in, and use accordingly.. Over years, much harder to manage as far as batteries are concerned; often easier to double up on Smart Tags and hope that the battery still functions.. If I was going on a trip, changing the battery out JUST before putting the tracker in your bags is a real good idea. Warnings: My wife does not use Smart Tags, or Pebblebees, although I did put one on her keychain. Just the other day, I received a warning on her phone telling her that there's a tracker following her, and it was stating that it was Pebblebee ( the default name for the tracker until you change it ) .. It offered to make it beep so she could locate the tracker. I didn't realize that Samsung devices would do this.. Understand, she has NO trackers set up on her phone, and is a Samsung device with nothing set up for any sort of trackers.

Hi there and thanks for your very detailed comment, that's awesome. Unfortunately like so many other technology products the market is very fragmented and, as you do, sometimes you have to combine devices to get the capabilities you want. That being said I have found the SmartTag2 to be excellent. I do agree about the volume level needing some work but with UWB I think you have a better chance of finding your device even with a low volume beep. As far as batteries go, I'm sorry to hear about your poor battery life experience. I've had all of my trackers active and we've taken several trips since I put them on my luggage and even after 6 months the batteries still show to be a little more than half a charge. I fully expect to get a year out of the batteries. Thanks again for your detailed information, that's very valuable for the viewers!

Thanks for sharing. I’m really on the fence about giving Chamberlain/Liftmaster any more of my money. Looks like the cable is 25’. If I did buy I’d want to clean up the cable run so it’s not visible.
@GadgetguyzGadgets
@GadgetguyzGadgets 8 күн бұрын
Hi there and thanks for watching and your comment. The cable length is 25 feet. They do give you some cable management tacks where you can easily tack it to the wall. I just didn't do that for the video so I could get it installed. I plan on going back and cleaning it up so it looks decent. I know you can get PVC style cable routing from a hardware store that will hide the wire but it's so small that would probably be more visible. I personally feel like it's absolutely worth the purchase if you have the video keypad and if you don't but are considering it I would buy them both. The battery has seemed to be the biggest drawback for a lot of people and this solves that. It has been a solid device. Thanks again!

Is it possible to link two youtube accounts for streaming? Or would that require me to make another stream labs account?
@GadgetguyzGadgets

Hi there and thanks for your question. Yes you can add multiple KZbin channels, you do not require a separate Streamlabs account. You can use the URL and Stream Key from the other KZbin Channel. This URL should give you a good starting point - streamlabs.com/content-hub/post/find-your-youtube-stream-key?srsltid=AfmBOopWXCGfrRd-dsNzSrB198nfOFItnRb-_jmAguclm4YGxqmyfQ0p good luck and thanks again!

Hey there and thanks for commenting. Yeah I agree that if for some reason you had no cell service it would be useless, however the other trackers are the same way. I found that out on my last trip where there was cell service issues and I couldn't track any of them. it would be nice if it gave you the ability to use your own BT signal to local it if you had no internet. Thanks again!

Have you ever had the ring camera? If so how would you compare that one to the nest camera?

Hi there and thanks for your question. Unfortunately I have not had any Ring devices so I don't know how it would compare. I can tell you that so far these MyQ cameras have been working great and the outdoor camera has done very well exposed to the weather. No issues.

Nice review. Your garage is not bad. That's not clutter. It's a different way of organizing 😀 For video recording, does it accept an SD memory card like a Wyze cam, or is it available by subscription only?

Thanks for the kind words and for watching! I think I'm going to start telling people that's my own organization method lol that's a good idea! Unfortunately it doesn't have the ability to use SD Card for recording. That would be a nice option however.

@@GadgetguyzGadgets Thanks. It's a "nice t0 have" feature but honestly I rarely use it on the Wyze cams. I like the fact that a MyQ cam can be linked to a MyQ garage door opener and sensor.

@woofinu yeah I have really enjoyed using the MyQ system since I've had it all installed. I started out with just the garage door opener but as they've added more products I've bought them and added them to the system and I really like the integration. I haven't had any issues with any of their equipment or services.

@@GadgetguyzGadgets Agree. I have found MyQ devices easy to install and use, and very stable and reliable. My only regret is that they used to integrate more tightly with Amazon in-garage delivery. Now it is more limited or has a cost per delivery (I am not sure if that's due to Amazon or Chamberlain).
