Really appreciate the After Action Report (AAR) from inside the Forest and from a local’s perspective. Real people, giving real information about the positive efforts of the Rainbow Family, is very helpful towards building true understanding of the reality of people who care about the earth, whether hippie, mountain biker, nature lover, or American Freedom Fighter, this video shows what is possible, when good hearted people try to understand one another over judging without listening, and remain open to the possibility that goodness can come from people who appear and present themselves differently than ourselves. It’s another testament to the fact that we share more than that which separates us.

Also if ya dig and enjoyed this video and dig the Rainbow people and hung out with them in the Golan Heights 😀 you may also enjoy the song " Most of All " By Glenn Kaiser and Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band Awesome songs check them out. Also I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? And if yes why ? To find out more please read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on KZbin. 😀

They always leave a gigantic mess whenever they leave
@traveldna46256 ай бұрын
After the majority of people left, there was a major mess. But there was a dedicated bunch of people that stayed behind for months to clean up. We were impressed when they left at just how clean it was.

You shouldn't whip tubers at speed, and especially with more than one person riding. Someone is going to get injured. Nevertheless, there was no tragedy as your video title display, and I'm happy to know it. Late afternoon wind storms are common through the monsoon season, June thru Sept.

From ol clean up crew,,, ~Thanks~ for the follow up n local perspective... It's not always easy what some of those kids left behind have to endure while doing there duty to love of the Forests and also "The Rainbow Family", they can be harassed for the messes before they get a chance to finish clearing the site... I'd like to see the 6mo. and the 6 year perspective from you as well. Knowing that animal and or locals may continue using trails which are supposed to be left duffed bridges removed and all re-naturalized as best possible as far as anything we made or was left on our account is important ~Peace~

Thanks so much for your comment. We immensely respect the Clean Up crews, and there is not enough room in this comment to give you the credit you deserve. We did go back up this summer, and have all the footage needed for a follow up video, but just haven't had the time to put it all together yet. The clean up crews really deserve their own video - because you really are the unsung heros. Maybe we'll do one next.

We have revisited the site of the Arizona 1998 Rainbow Gathering every few years since. When returning in 2000, the only evidence that we could find was that there was a greener circle where the main circle had been. Where was once one of the composting toilet facilities, there was taller vegetation. One thing that I think that you failed to mention, as you didn’t attend the main event, is that the prayer and ceremony is not only for world peace, but the Mother Earth, as well. FYI 25 years later, we found the old circle still remarkably more green. We found the spring fed water and stream, of which use was vehemently opposed by the local rancher, a stinking eroded mess from that ranchers cattle, which have destroyed the area and diminished Canero Lake itself from ranching misuse resultant nitrogen algae muck. It has significantly taken from we, who own those forest, to line the line the pockets of the rancher and Forest Service who are obviously not stewards of the land. Thank-you for your sincere stab at reporting the truth. I might add that a very few shop lifters, amongst 10,000 newcomers, is not a crime-wave necessitating expensive resources. The business revenue increase, I’m certain, far outweighs the shoplifting shenanigans of a handful of misfits. If the Rainbow’s were left alone, there would be less hassle. I have seen no decrease in the drug use because of the presence of officers, undercover, or uniformed. Agencies use the excuse to get extra emergency funding and overtime pay, claiming millions are needed to “handle” a made up catastrophe.

Bright blessings and a big thank you for your level headed presentation of the Gathering of the Tribes. Thanks for carrying out trash as the sign suggested and thanks to all the Clean-up Crew. It will take a few years before everything regrows, but I have talked to lots of Scouts who go back to Gathering sites years later and the report is always that it looks pretty much like it did before the Gathering happened. Lovin' you!

Thanks for your comment. The clean up effort was a huge commitment by passionate and dedication people. They were a much smaller group of people, and if not for them, I think the mess that would be left behind would be shocking. We saw what was left in the woods by some attendees and if they had that Rainbow passion you speak of, they would have cleaned up their own mess and packed it out the same way they came in. I'm afraid some of the newer attendees don't have your same personal responsability. We really did appreciate the clean up crews that cleanup up trash and also assisted the land to come back and flourish.
@OldManMuskrat6 ай бұрын
When they gathered in Southern Ohio back in the 80s they completely trashed the place. They were damming up creeks to bath and left trash everywhere. It took locals three weeks to clean up the huge mess and we never want them back here again.

That weird smell was DMT by the way. these dudes smoke it like nothin. I'm fine with these kind of festivals but I wish they would recognize the fact that you cannot do this in a wild space with this many people. I mean just logistically it takes A LOT of coordination to pull of a festival safely with thousands of people. I also hate that they usually just turn into one large open air drug market. Which again, could be fine but the people that show up are usually really bad.
