Each one was mellowed than the last, so I suppose it depends if you’re playing with a band and want to blend or cut through

I’ve had bot. The twanger lived up to it’s name and popped a little more especially in jams but the RK-75 for me just plays so much nicer. Warmer and less chunky.

OB-3 Twanger hands down!!! Sir I have to tell you too, you just saved me about $300 bucks let me tell you how, I have a GoldTone BG-250F Banjo it had the white Ladie neck with rosewood fingerboard, I bought the OB-3 Twanger neck with the ebony fingerboard, love it, I wanted to put this on this banjo to me they looked exactly the same, I took off my other neck and put the Twanger neck on but I noticed where the neck meets the tension hoop it’s raised up just under about 3/8’s of an inch, well I thought they were supposed to be flush with the dip right there level across the head and mine is exactly the same way your twanger is so I have to call them in the morning, and tell them not to disassemble the banjo and to just do a full setup on it, wow you just saved me a buncha money and not on my car insurance tho 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

Neck carving is such a wonderful way to spend a few hours. I prefer files and rasps over draw knives etc when im building but i do love watching the process however you choose to do it. Wonderful stuff

Buy it second hand. No more money to end up supporting the China military buildup as all business in China does. Glad Recording King lost that ugly white square box on the company headstock name. I have to wonder what design genius puts a square in the center of !multiple contours and thinks it isn't ugly.

Truth, its sad how an all American banjo instrument can end up in the hands of chinese communists to make. Banjo is the one thing that should be made in USA.

Two very different sounding banjos. I preferred the Gold Tone for a traditional clawhammer sound; deeper bass and stronger mids. Deering is a bit too thin and nasally for my tastes (definitely better for Bluegrass, even with it's 12" pot).

The Goodtime banjo with the 11-inch pot has clarity that the 12-inch pot does not deliver.
