what are your thoughts on adding the garmin power switch to the house battery in my sprinter to control all exterior driving lights front and back, exterior scene lights at camp, and interior task lighting.

It is a great option for that.

This is a sick build! I have a 3rd gen Tacoma and want to do the same setup. But I can't figure out how everyone gets around the legal payload capacity. Any tricks, or does everyone just cross their fingers and hope sh## doesn't go south?

Thanks for another great vid!! And another amazing build!! Please, some questions: -Can you the exterior propane tank holder be customized to hold a larger size, the more easily sourced standard grill size (20 lb?) at most all the stores? -Is there some sort of bracket assembly upon which can be mounted a large molly plate that can cover the entire back, on the outside of the water tank? Finally, Can you build a custom baffle that can be temperarily mounted in a window at camp, then dismounted in the moring, that would hold a wall unit AC, and then have the small genny outside somewhere close as the August nights in SE TX without AC are challenging. Thank you!

What's the total Weight of that build...I bet Its over GVWR. I priced one last year and it was over with zero gear and nobody sitting in it. FYI its over 50,000 cad fully loaded.
@tinyrigco13 күн бұрын
Very likely over GVWR, with the amount of modifications, axles, etc. Those axles and brakes are designed to hold a much heavier load, so mechanically speaking, those items are sound. It would be interesting to see what an updated GVWR would be like if he was from a country that allowed for adjustments, based on modifications.

Great build. Looks amazing. Form and function. Do you find people have problems with the Dickinson heater at altitude? I live at 7k ft and frequently camp at 9k+.
@tinyrigco13 күн бұрын
Thank you for the feedback. You know, we have camped at over 9K many times and haven't had an issue. The only issue I have seen is when the tank is running low and it is colder out. I think the cause is the reduced pressure in the tank. (same issue with portable fire pits)

Hey Daniel have you ever thought of doing an adventure trailer build
@tinyrigco13 күн бұрын
I have, and we have modified a few trailers at our shop here, to enhance the functionality. I don't think I am personally a trailer guy. I sincerely think a truck bed camper is superior because of the ability to keep the truck a bit more compact when navigating narrow trails. I am a bit of a psychopath in wanting every vehicle I have to NEVER limit where I can go, and a trailer worries me a little with that. I think if you are sticking to mellow trails and open desert areas, a trailer can be a really sweet option to keep your vehicle lighter and still bring a big setup for a family. Who knows though... maybe I will change my mind.

In this case, we are switching the roof up. Many customers like the style of the flat aluminum vs the tread/diamond plate. For the full size, I prefer the larger single window than 2 smaller windows.

So what Battery would you suggest when living in a climate like down in Baja due the heat ? Or I should ask. Would I be ok with the normal factory Battery for long term? That comes in the 3rd Gen Tundra? I have only just a couple Mods lighting..I'm also considering running a fridge once in a while..weekend camping only..Nothing more. If I was to consider replacing the Factory battery. Something more durable for long term everyday use..? What brand would you suggest? Than you ..
