Really fun video ! I got a ton of nostalgia from those anime references. The original show and GX were my youth before/after school when i was like 6 to 13. It was so good but I'm scared to take it out of its fragile memory shell, so it's nice to experience it through someone else. I like this video format !

I played this game, and it's sequel so much back in the day. The duels against the ai don't force you to use the banlist so you can make some absolutely monstrous decks to use against them.

I still think the warlock quest could have been a good quest, if the reward didn't cost 5 whole mana. Pay 5 do absolutely nothing that turn, on top of already hurting ur deck through discarding, and not really have great ways to recover from being behind truly semeted that quest being dead. I think at 3 mana that quest would have stood a chance imo.

The original manga is even crazier. Mokuba tries to kill Yugi and Joey by playing Russian roulette with poisoned food, there was a gang that went around town attacking people with Yo-Yos, and Yugi's friends gets trapped in a Dungeons and Dragons game by Bakura. Eventually the card game aspect took most of the focus, but the early chapters where very bizarre and experimental.

The game omitted plenty of detail from the anime, while the anime also omitted some details from the manga but also add some 'filler' (Though the manga and anime kinda divert at some point) Some difference up to this part: -In the Manga, they mention the biggest reason why Weevil could became Champion is because Kaiba, the most likely candidate for winning, is currently hospitalized after he got mind crushed by Yugi, and Yugi himself refuse to participate -Mai and Tea never duel in Manga -Bakura situation in Manga is different from the Anime. In Anime, they met at the Island and they have a duel and became friend afterward, but in Manga he also coming with them from the start and they didn't Duel (Yugi already fought Yami Bakura before in Manga before, and they befriend him afterward, not knowing the Yami Bakura is still lurking inside him) -In the Anime and Game, Yugi and Joey dueled before he fought Pegasus. In Manga, Yugi didn't duel Joey, as they both said that they have no reason to, so Joey just forfeit and let Yugi fought Pegasus right away (In this one, I prefer they duel like the Anime) -In the game, Pegasus just told the guard to kick Keith's out of the Castle, In Anime, Pegasus throw Keith out the ocean through a Trap Door, While in Manga Pegasus gave 'death penalty' to Keith for cheating in his duel against Joey by turning his hand into a gun and make him blast his own head off using it. -In Anime, Bakura only injured Pegasus and gouge out his millennium eye, but in Manga, he straight up murder him and took his Millennium eye, and mockingly left a Millennium Eye Replica with him (in Anime, Pegasus will still occasionally appear, mostly on Movie and filler chapter, but in Manga, this is where he died and no longer made any appearance)

Looking back I'm amazed the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime was successful at all. The game doesn't make sense, the story and lore don't make sense, and the character designs look like deviantart creations.

Kaiba is on another level, he built a space elevator so he could essentially go back into the past to duel Yugi's alter ego. He sent cards into space so that if there was any aliens out there, they'd learn the game so he could duel them. And did many, many other crazy things and essentially caused every single mainline Yu-Gi-Oh series to happen in one way or another.

Gul’dan was such an awesome card and you felt so powerful whenever yoy slammed it down and got good demons rolled out… But Anduin was the stronger card and I hated… Hated playing against it.

Banger video, sad they missed some of the more interesting duels in the show, the Pumpkin duel, ghost kaiba and para/dox but i understand why they skipped these as they where essentially filler, can't wait for Season 2 which is even more of a banger than season 1
