Flare Audio has been forced to publish ALL reviews on their website instead of just the good ones. Historically, 1 and 2-star reviews were reported as running at 3%. In the last three months, that figure has jumped to 38%. It was 55% in October. You can confirm this by checking review scores on their website. So from the reported 2M Calmer sales, a 38% fail rate means 760,000 bought them, they didn't work, and they lost their money as the refund policy is not accessible. Many of these people trusted the false review position Flare Audio had previously published.

Thank you for this EXCELLENT test, as well as for your excellent presentation. I wish all EweToob videos could be this good. Some results were in line with what I expected. However, I was quite surprised that adding the wombat to the blimp provided only 1dB of further reduction. Perhaps you've reached the noise floor of the fan motor itself. It might be useful to take a 10-second sample of each test condition, average each one, then overlay a line graph of freq vs. level for all the tests. You might see the LF going down a lot more than 1dB, while the noise floor (motor and room noise) stays up. I was actually bummed to see the significant notches in some of the blimp tests. That does not bode well for recording of music outdoors. I suspect the various dip frequencies are related to the dimensions of the blimp, and perhaps even to the location of the mic capsule within the blimp. I wonder how a small mic (e.g. a lav) would perform inside a spherical foam windscreen or blimp. I did not find much info in the Audio Cyclopedia. I'll have to dig out some my old Harry Olsen books and see what he had to say. Thanks again, that was really informative and interesting. Peace, out.

you missed the point of the video you're criticizing. spending $5 is obviously not 'professional grade' solution. it was a simple and more importantly, cheap, way to solve his problem, which by his video, he achieved his goal. $150 or more that you show at 7:34 is not what he was going for.

Currently considering the Scarlett 18i20, but having a hard time understanding if I need a dedicated monitor controller with it. Can I not just route all 6 outputs to the main monitor knob on the front of the unit and use that as a unified volume control? (once everything has been properly calibrated/unified etc)

for me it's all about feel. No matter what tests you run, the biggest difference I noticed between hifi and night mode is that with night mode it's far more difficult to tell somebody's distance from you. I might hear footsteps and I might even be able to know which direction they are coming from, but it's very hard to me to tell distance. With hifi, it's like I have wallhacks. I know exactly how far they are and what room they're in. If I was close left on a door for example, I can tell if they're in the close left or far left corner. Night mode jumbles everything up and makes this impossible.

The extra wind noise because wind blow in different directions and now this mic has 4 times the of being hit by the wind. (Those 4 individual microphones actually on the vr). Also the wind screen generally are not 100% bullet proof to wind noise

On my new Puget Systems Windows 11 PC with Arena 9 5.1 (Bluetooth rear speakers), I find: Your Spatial Audio Test on your above KZbin demo, when dragging the audio icon around the screen horizontally: - I hear your voice thru the front and rear speakers, but not the center channel Using the Windows / Sound settings / Speakers / 2- SteelSeries Arena 9 / Format Test: - I hear the chime move from Left, to Right, to Center, to Subwoofer, to Left Rear, to Right Rear (with all speakers working at same amplitude) Thus, your Demo does not noticeably fire the Center Speaker or Subwoofer, as compared to the Windows Setting Speaker Test. Still, I found your explanation and Demo very helpful - many thanks!

Honestly, sometimes I think it's a scam. I have played several atmos movies on my pioneer vsx930k but I can't hear any improvements apart from occasional sound coming from above. In fact I think it degraded the sound. The Dolby atmos volume is very very low that I had to turn up the volume of the receiver all the way up and it sounds too bright as well. I usually switch back to DD+ or dolbyHD because they sound more immersive and heavier.

Hello, a question if a movie has 5 or 7 channels (all blurays are like that), but it supports Atmos, a receiver with Dolby Atmos, for example 9 or 11 channels, the receiver generates the missing channels to output the audio through all channels speakers ?

Thanks, great test to try out the "spatial mode" on my new JBL speakers, It crunches the top frequencies quite a bit compared to "normal mode" so I wanted to see if it was actually worth it. conclusion, it's definitely worth it.
