Word smithing to change perceptions. Same with telling stories as if they exemplify something across the board. Like, and I'm not digging at you here, just the sudden industry adoption of it: the story we use now about the buffalo movements. Just because cattle and bison are both bovine, doesnt mean they have the same mechanisms. Most of our modern cattle come from Bos Taurus and Aurox origination. Who are more like water buffalo in nature than bison buffalo.

It is really interesting the word smithing and like you said sudden adoption of the words and phrases across the industry. It feels like controlled narratives.

People don't understand that the leftover hay feeds the soil and the earthworms. You are improving your pastures by doing this. Keep up the good work!

How many head are in your herd? Love the idea of stacking functions and gaining on site fertility with feeding hay. Doing it in the high grounds is even more beneficial as the increase in organic matter at those higher points in the watershed will mean the rainfall will be slowed down more and the land will start holding more water every year. Once you get the vegetation from the seeds in the hay taking off your well on your way to regenerating the ecosystem where it matters most.

Currently we have 15 animals. But that’s exactly right hitting the high ground. Hope to just keep passing the information along.get it into the zeitgeist of the masses I’ll tell ya to the beef quality has improved so much over the past few years. I used to do set stock grazing just throw animals out there til we had nothing left then feed hay in a sacrifice lot… was going broke doing it that way. Now I have 2x the amount of animals and I feed less hay than ever before. Crazy all in the management and mindset.

Always unroll the hay in the places that need seed and fertility. It’s all about adding carbon.

Organic is also a tricky one you can be organic and overgraze. You can also be organic and feed them in a feed lot. Let me know thoughts your thoughts on certifications. I would love a system where the consumers knew where their food was coming from.

Sure seems it requires managing the land differently. If the cows were penned up I would have a mud hole on my hands lol thanks for watching.

Hey thanks for listening. Need lots more small scale farmers. My mission is to simplify the regenerative agriculture methods so farmers and homesteaders can easily implement the techniques. The Beauty is in the simplicity.

Just found your channel grass fed beef is the best ❤good for the land all the manure on it for sure, how many pastures do you have for rotation? Or is it big enough you don’t have to ? Looking for more videos …great farming practices..subbed, love the long videos so interesting…

No land is big enough trust me I screwed up big time when I first started doing set stock grazing.. grass roots die if the cows graze it 3 days in a row. It only takes 3 days to overgraze. The trick with grass fed is grass fed can be considered cows getting fed nothing but hay and silage in a barn. That’s how the feed lots get the consumers confused on the labels. I know it’s hard but find a beef operation that’s regenerative if possible. Some of them are way over priced but at least you know the land is actually improving. And my safe bet is 2.5 acres per animal and they get moved every day. We only have 15 head now on about 45-50 acres and the management is easy I could push it harder but I like to be safe. I overgrazed once and it took 2 years to recover from it. It’s all in the management 😂 thanks for watching

The water cycle is solely dependent on the carbon cycle they are synonymous with one another. Get these 2 cycles right for long enough we can create an effective mineral cycle. 90% of the ground agriculture is being preformed on does not have an effective mineral cycle. Nutrient deficient produce/protein. IDE love to hear your thoughts feel free to comment.
