So we’re just doing Metal Gear Solid 4 TV intro ads for real now huh

It would have been ideal to include the arms on the exoskeleton as well. The added weight on the limbs thanks to the armor can and does tire the fighter faster, as it has been shown in a study about the oxygen intake of walking on treadmills in full medieval plate armor. It was found that the metal plates on the limbs ended up tiring the men faster than if they carried same weight in equipment on their center of mass, as modern soldiers do. With that said, I don't even need to comment how ballistic limb armor could tire a soldier even more on a long walk. The exoskeleton on the legs will surelly make this less of an issue, but if it was added on the arms it woulf be even better. Anyway, those are my two cents.

Legal a ideia, mais a roupa sairia muito cara, so séria usada para missões específicas

Is the Mehler ballistic helmet line available for the civilian market in the EU?
@Hornet_LegionАй бұрын
I know it's counter intuitive but the greatest threat to a soldier is not the enemy he faces and take cover against but the enemy that's attacks him from behind or from the flank. One wonders if a ballistic pavise shield slung over the back would be more useful

Until you get shot literally a single time in one of the leg plates and the entire plate is violently ripped from the robotic frame.
@grefire19472 ай бұрын
I mean it’s a passive exoskeleton, not powered by anything. Even then, if the plate is atleast able to absorb the round then it’s atleast done its job.

I'd worry about the heat. It's the limitation for using medieval armor if you are exerting yourself.

This is excellent design! It would be impractical though for any battlefield I believe besides a local one. What if a person falls over? Perhaps artificial-muscles would be the best for this design? Both a passive longevity and active extension. (Powered by hydrogen perhaps, created by an on-sight generator.)

I have an exo it's good enough for about 4 or 5 hours of continuous use I mean realistically a stronger battery can be used to extend the range to March close to 20 miles a day. Sprinting is definitely gonna use up power though.

This sort of tech MIGHT be viable in 10-15 years. It's still very far away and might be an obsolete idea by the time something like this could ever be viable to begin with. I think flying drones are going to get smaller and more versatile with more sensors and be able to do 90% of the fighting and DB-type robotics will do a good portion of the logistics and handling, while driverless vehicles do the shipping. The only human element will be someone sitting comfortably behind a controller at a base back home, commanders, IT engineers and technicians, ordinance systems specialists, and command. The battlefield will mostly be robots dispatching humans that are part of a regime/military/rebellion that do not have access to robotics tech and support. Of course this is a slippery slope into allowing the wrong person to handle such autonomous power, but that is what checks and balances are for. I don't believe something like terminator's skynet could ever exist outside of scifi. As someone that works around this industry, I see a far brighter future where less harm comes to humans due to automation, conflicts are solved much faster with less bloodshed, humans are more free to do positive things for themselves and the world with access to UBI, socialized healthcare, robotics, and AI that can supplement an entire team helping you get through your day. The people wishing to exploit this system simply can't due to the complexity of human-involved support, isolated proprietary programming, and a logistical network that is run by AI that can't be influenced by any malicious outside data. We already have systems like this in place, and they are getting safer and better in every way, literally everyday. We have seen nothing but positives from these systems, even seeing drones being far more effective as a fighting force with better precision and an allowance of mercy. Russians in Ukraine waving the white flag and being taken into custody, dangerous criminals backed into a corner being hit with less than lethal and pepper spray by a robot to get them into a position to be put into custody, and of course these systems being used for non-violence. Such as removing slave-wage jobs, taking up jobs that are dangerous and damaging to the human body, and menial tasks that create incredibly important data to analyze and improve conditions, equipment, etc.. I think the human element being taken out of danger allows for better control of a situation, allowing for cooler heads to prevail. I think exosuits may be supplementary to some jobs, but will mostly be used by the hadicapped. I don't think exosuits will be sued for any sort of battle or war, just ridiculous notion all-around.
