Well I am totally curious what all the other Music Pilots Micky tried out for were, totally curious. And yes, being able to more or less hear everything is much better is seeing the Beatles and hearing nothing but screaming, I agree.

What a great video! Loved seeing Don Messick at the end, and was that Jean Vander Pyl on Janet's right?

I'm still looking up all the songs in 2024! All the interviews are so awesome and I loved them "Like No Others"! The Monkees and the Beatles were my favorites of being young and finding myself in the music of the times!

I love Davy too but this song co-written and performed by Aussie legend John Farnham is just fantastic ❤❤ Check out his live performances in 1994. His band and backing vocalists are great too 🎉

Mike's voice was still strong and good and the harmonies were great here. He went out the way a rock-and-roller should -- he died about two weeks after his last show. That's going to the end of the fuse, sir. Rest in Power.

God bless him. I loved him when I was a kid, and he was a Monkee. Now that I can watch his performances through the years, hear songs I've never heard him sing, I am much more impressed with his talent and perseverance! He just kept on plugging on. What a guy!! Rest in Heaven, darling Davy.😢

I adore these guys and though they were a part of my childhood as well, I have come to really understand where they are at with their messages within their tunes!!! "Shades of Gray" is probably my most favorite, although it is almost impossible to choose one tune above the others!! RIP DAVY, NEZ AND PETER!! YOU ARE SORELY MISSED, BUT THANK GOD WE HAVE YOUR LEGENDARY MUSIC TO SUSTAIN US........

When this track first surfaced on the Australian Monkeemania vinyl compilation at the end of the 1970s, it was the first indicator of great things to come in terms of the wealth of previously unreleased Monkees material that has surfaced since that time. I remain immeasurably grateful.

Are you kidding me??!? "Steam Engine 99" is in my top twenty Monkees tunes! I never knew that they EVER performed it live! Had Colgems paid for production costs with Chip Douglas, this could have been a top ten hit! Ah, well... (P.S. I know "99" isn't part of the title, but it sounds better that way! 😉)
