First time fitted the pro kit today. No pipe snug provided. Nothing special about the insulation. its just standard grey 15mm walled just coated black! the 1m extension still needs a length of 32mm solvent weld pipe and a coupler. 2 brackets, no screws. could have thrown in 4 x stainless steel screws.

Good to know. Personally I'd throw away the included plastic coated insulation, it looks horrible and kinks when bent. I'd replace it with PrimparyPro for all of the external pipework, it's looks a lot better but more importantly it insulates better. More manufacturers should get onboard with your product and fit it as standard in the factory.

Did Caleffi/Altecnic say why they don't want the body of the antifreeze valve insulating? It has an internal sensor which only measures the internal water temp, it should be insulated. I'm sure you'll agree it's pretty important to conserve every ounce of heat. Altecnic need to fix this obvious weak link asap, else we're going to end up with millions of air source heat pumps with two exposed metal valves on fully insulated external pipes.

That rainwater looks like a soil pipe Bud, and for boilers who don’t have one you can fit a none return/ dry tundish but on a rainwater there’s a video showing the air gap method 👍👍

Yes, over 7000 to date and they are forever tools. Every year, many condensates freeze, and as we have seen in 2010 / 2018 (Beast from the east), hundreds of thousands of homes were without heating because of a frozen condensate. This is why all boiler manufacturers state they have to be insulated and sealed correctly if they terminate outside, with the correct weather and UV proof products. Standard weatherproof insulation? Class O insulation is only weather and UV resistant if it's painted twice as the MIS state, with their paint and recoated every two years. This is why many don't last and fail to do their job. Silicones are not made for sealing external pipework as they don't last when expanding and contracting at different temperatures. This is why PipeSnugs were made, or you can use our purpose-made Bond & Seal.
