Did Caleffi/Altecnic say why they don't want the body of the antifreeze valve insulating? It has an internal sensor which only measures the internal water temp, it should be insulated. I'm sure you'll agree it's pretty important to conserve every ounce of heat. Altecnic need to fix this obvious weak link asap, else we're going to end up with millions of air source heat pumps with two exposed metal valves on fully insulated external pipes.
