I have a idea for one of ur shorts if you haven’t done it if you had to evacuate how would u do it? And those peahens are adorable
@Josephsflock22 сағат бұрын
Peafowl are super cute, they act like crazy chickens. As for the evacuation idea, I would probably do that in a future summer as we have lots of wildfires that are dangerous and sometimes you have to leave home due to the fire risks.
@snowy_leopard_AJ20 сағат бұрын
@ yea it isn’t a bad idea it’s summer for us in Australia we have had a very close call to evacuate but we didn’t luckily

When I loss one I plant them in the garden to bring fertilizer where needed
@JosephsflockКүн бұрын
I want to do that too! I was originally planning to plant trees on top of them but then realized I didn’t have the space for a bunch of new trees in random spots. I think I’ll maybe plant a bunch of trees outside of my coop and then burry chickens I lose around these existing trees for fertilizer and as a sort of memorial.

@JosephsflockКүн бұрын
They are definitely dumber than chickens, but they are also more chaotic. They are basically chickens with anxiety.

Cats can get along with chickens and other livestock birds so they'd be awesome pest control.
@JosephsflockКүн бұрын
If a cat is raised among chickens than they could make for a good companion, but they just need to be kept away from young chicks because they still might hurt them, even just accidentally.
@phylx3272Күн бұрын
@Josephsflock I never had my cats around the chicks much. Teddy and Mary could cuz I trained those cats to chill a little away from the babies. Those were the best farm cats I've ever had. Ted sadly passed away this summer and I've retired Mary to a cozy indoor life of waking me up at 5 am cuz she's trained to go to the restroom outside.

You still have a mouse problem with chickens? My chickens ate mice
@JosephsflockКүн бұрын
I don’t have a bad mouse problem, the chickens usually keep them away, but there is spilled food everywhere and it attracts mice and magpies who try to eat it when the chickens aren’t there to defend it.

Magpies aren't corvids. They are related to the American butcher bird
@Josephsflock2 күн бұрын
This is an American magpie, they are a corvid. Where I live we have ravens, crows, blue jays, and magpies, all of which are corvids.
