I wish I knew about that dead weight trick years ago, I suppose I do it a little already, but being cognisant of it will definitely help me with barres. Huge thanks!

this video is interesting and thoughtful but that music chattering away in the background while you are trying to explain yourself is so distracting I cant even watch this - maybe I'm just that way but I can't take the confusion

Thank you, Merce. Are you Catalonian? I am 39, I have lived in Cubellas for 5 months in 2008. I know to play guitar from age 13. But now I am learning classical guitar. I use the mothod book of Julio Sagreras - Las Primeras Lecciones de Guitarra. I needed some advice for the right hand and I dropped on your tutorail. You are a very good teacher. I also needed advice for the nails. Good luck

If you eat rubber bands, it helps with finger stretch.

Too bad this lesson has minimal application to people not playing classical guitars with nylon strings. The tension you place on the strings of a classical guitar are totally different from that of an amplified electric guitar.

I have one request related but not directly to a Barre. While playing the B major chord shape, I would love to use my third finger like a medium Barre to press the 2,3,4 strings instead of those individual fingers like I am forced to do today. This is because my third finger doesn't bend as much. Any tips to solve that. Or progressive exercises such as this? Mucho gracias.

as you move the designated finger across the strings to the target note, are the other fingers just in staying contact with g string or pushing down to the fretboard? Either way, great exercise, thank you for sharing it.

I find the action of classical guitars to be much too high, making them more difficult to play. I much prefer the low action of flamenco guitars. Those who play flamenco guitars are not afraid of fret buzz, we embrace it.

I would not start off a beginner on the first position of the guitar because they have not learned to release the tension in their shoulders, arms, and hands. They have not also developed the finger dexterity yet for larger frets. ALL THEY ARE GOING TO DEVELOP IS TENSION IN THEIR BODY AND BAD GUITAR PLAYING HABITS WHICH LEAD TO INJURY.
