A touring car ran on you? DAMN, the battery receiver is the blame because if anyone of those batteries pop out, these cars can start a runaway if your not careful, use a battery voltage pack that does not make the car runaway but power up the receiver and your controller, using these battery receiver packs will destroy your nitro car…

Hello Torque! I Love the TA-02 Tamiya chassi! it can do all, HiLux Pick Up Desert Race, Rally, and FlatTrack racing like the DTM mercedes 190 racing against BMW M3 there are so many nice Bodys for, Alfa Romeo Opel... AND the three Pick Ups to collect =) ) seen as chase camera Car in my video and the old 540 if they get enough current... they give all

Hello Brayden, Well done! i have that body on an kyosho elecric chassi? the nicest body ever AFTER the Shelby Cobra Daytona body ;) i have on a kyosho nitro one gear chassi, does anyone know how it is called to look for spareparts? what kind of engine will fit in? so please let us see how it runs now ! =) ) did that old engine run again??? was so glad to see something like this here THANK you to show to us! greetings from northern germany

Mate, doing donuts thrashes your rear belt. I had/have quite a few Spider Mk II That I really should dust off, service, and sell. They are all in very good nick, some with Novarossi .12 engines. Plus lots of mods.

A huge blessing in disguise. In my case my friend crashed my HSP Buggy. It ended with a bent chassis and a completely destroyed HPI T3.0 (both side mountings were torn off, which left 2 giant holes). A new engine block costs 60% of the price of a new one, so it was left for parts...

Hey mate, For cleaning the nitro engines I use methylated spirits on a cotton bud, this works well but sometimes takes a while to get the really old varnished nitro off, but I find this is the safest method and the least aggressive, Thank you very much!

Well done! A restoration is always great stuff. I also have an old TA02 in my collection. These chassis are really tough and durable.

Done anything more too the kit ? Or kept as is or moved it on perhaps too someone else ? Those plastic details like the mirrors, headlights & roofscoop could use some paint. Video called " Tamiya Time, Ep 10, TA02 Castrol Celica, Vintage Box Art Car " shows one completed in boxart if you want too give it a try despite the damaged body, the body was re-released in 2009 on the DF-03RA as well as partnumber 92202 & also on the TT01E. Team C racing also has a Toyota Celica body that is pretty close too the original one by Tamiya. TC024 is the part number for that one the roof scoop & headlights is part of the body rather then a separate piece is the major differences at a quick glance here & no mirrors but you can probably mount in the Tamiya original body ones there once they are painted as an extra detail & have it look great.

Hey man, If the receiver that is in the car is what I think it is, it could be on the old school crystal radio frequency, I’d highly recommend getting a flysky radio & receiver setup (they come as a pair ready to go) for relatively cheap, about $50 AUD will get you going. Just going to be safer and much more responsive, I use the flysky fs-gt2 and it’s wicked for the money, Hope that helps and happy nitro sending man

I love to follow the process of restoration, as I do the same; did you have any issues with your celica body? I´ve renovated a Schnitzer BMW and this body was really in a bad shape - love to see more of this

YES the toyota prerunner is my favorite! the right Wheels and Dampers soft! rear more than in Front it sicks to the wobbly ground in our Garden drifts over the sandy way AND goes verry well on asphalt even =) AND Yes the look of the body ;)

Hello, I picked up my V one S from my parents, which is over 15 years old. I would like to restore it but I have no knowledge. What do you recommend ? It was my father-in-law who took care of the mechanics and I drove.

Hey there mate, I guess the first step would be cleaning the chassis to be able to properly check all screws, plastics & belts are in good shape. To clean use degreaser and a brush to agitate everything. Dry with compressed air. After cleaning, I’d oil all bearings. From there, you can add some oil to the cylinder (remove the glow plug, replace with OS#8 plug if required). After removing the glow plug, use a hairdryer to warm up the engine for a while, then attempt to use the recoil hand starter to turn over the engine. For the carburettor, use some fuel line & a syringe to push a small amount of methylated spirits into the carb. This will help clear it. Ideally, I would recommend a full engine tear down and deep clean, but I am aware you are new to this. That’s ok. After that you’ll need fuel, a charged igniter and a check of all electronics to ensure they’re working properly. Start it on a block of wood and let it warm up, then you can begin tuning. That should get you going for now man, you can do it 👌🏽🙌🏽

i think on kyosho chassis 200 mm will fit better they are a little biger than Tamiya 1/10 maybe 1/9 1/8,5 ? AND if you got a 200mm body it is easyer to get wider Spur(?) than on a 190mm boy it did not look good when the wheels reach out of the body? Greetings

Agree Man. That second speed is a game changer. Though it does slowly damage the second gear fast even setting it to engage at low speed.

@@TheMrchips25 yeah it does that’s true, almost impossible to set a perfect mesh on a two speed, my trick was to just buy a shitload of spare gears 😂 they wear rather slowly though so kinda good in that regard.
