I don't get why the video here only shows VIA Rail trains with LRC consists. Why not show trains with consists of Budd cars? I love Budd streamliner cars. There's lots of those in Ontario. Or does this person think that videos of VIA trains have to be only those unsightly Bombardier LRCs? Even the VIA Rail's Ocean train Renaissance cars are cooler looking.

So they left the second switch in that position, are there no other trains that use this wye? I would hate to do that in the winter with no switch heaters. I guess 4 trains a day doesnt justify putting in electric switches.

What is going on with the other rail that comes out of the left tunnel?

The left tunnel is no longer in use as it's too small to accomodate today's larger rail equipment. That crossover track was removed so that they would no longer have to worry about it for maintenance since it is connects to the track that's currently in use.

As a rail fan i also like watching some “VIA Rail” Train video's just simply for how fast they get going. I’ve been on a few “VIA Rail” rides from Windsor to London or vice versa & i could definitely tell that we were absolutely hauling the mail in the country side.

its a classic, VIA rail continues to use them in the rebuilt F40PH-2D and -3D and C varients basically just adding different HEP engines on them.

Amazing video!! The Via rail F40PH and P42DC are my favourite engines but I love the P42DC better because it has a better horn doppler effect especially when it's at high speed!

Saw this locomotive today ( Jan 26/23) heading east out of Lethbridge.....to say I was excited is putting it mildly! I grew up in Natal/ Michel BC very close to the railway tracks.
