In just a few years, just imagine the new Siemens Charger train sets recently purchased by Via Rail running even faster at a full 110 mph or 177 kph on high frequency dedicated tracks between Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City! Passenger rail enthusiasts really look forward to that day since this project will provide an affordable, more environmentally-friendly, faster, more relevant, reliable and safer travel choice to Canadians!

Thanks! Are original plan was to catch the last VIA train seen in this video at Pumb Rd, but we got word of Eastbout CP train that would pass us at about the same time. So we changed plans and headed to Dillon Rd were the two tracks are only about 200m across from eachother. And ya, if 160 km/h isn't hauling ass then I don't know what is.

@@itsdad0c Not to turn this into a political debate or anything but I have a good feeling that if he’s elected, Biden will provide more than enough funding for Amtrak for them to start returning their more luxurious onboard service, and maybe even rebuild the heritage fleet.

Because Via cant afford new train sets and will refurbish the crap out of them. (Although amtrak should run at least to 30 years) We inherited 30 year old cars in 1977 and we're still running them after several refurbishments.

Are you really going to tell me that there’s a via train that’s doing 100 miles an hour I travel weekly between Windsor and Toronto and Toronto in Montreal and you’re lucky to get 100 km an hour maybe there was a typo in your description
@southwesternrailproduction99013 жыл бұрын
There is not a typo in the title. VIA can reach speeds between 90 and 100 MPH depending the equipment/locomotives that are being used. This speed can only be attained on VIA Rail owned trackage, the Chatham Subdivision being one of them. On CN trackage they can reach speeds of up to 80 MPH. Ask any VIA Rail Locomotive Engineer and they will tell you the same. The next time you take the train, you can use this link to select your train number and track your train speed in real time and see for yourself: tsimobile.viarail.ca
@MrMitch56563 жыл бұрын
You are wrong. They can very well reach speeds of 100MPH.
