Surprised by the results! Not tested Strike yet. However, I have my hours with PTPro, PTFire and PTRev. Really surprised 2 of you don't like Fire. I enjoy Fire more than PTP and by far more than PTRev. Think the spin from Fire is solid, it's the closest to Head Lynx Tour from the Yonex line imo. Did not like Rev much at all, felt very average. All tested with Vcore100 as it's my current racket. Just ordered Toroline KPOP and Restring Zero from you guys, so will be interesting to see if I like that in my Vcore!

Great video and Totally agree. Strike was designed for Shapovalov to wean him off ALU when he switched to Yonex. It's the ALU killer with better feel and what's more important, far better tension maintenance.

Agree.. I just switched from polytour pro to strike in my yonex vcore 100.. I am now going on court to experiment with strike in mains and pro in crosses to see if I can get a little bit more spin, but unless it gets a good deal of it, Ill just stick with the full bed and enjoy the control

Yeah...agree..been using Strike for a while. Had an amazing first impression. I was picking my spots and executing them so well. You won't get much spin indeed so you'll have to generate that on your own. Easier with a racket like Vcore (which is my racket too). Agree with Pro being 2nd...amazing feel on this one but the 3rd time you'll play with it the tension goes dead. Unless you string often, don't recommend it for that reason. So it's not about breaking them (I haven't broken a string in 15 years) but tension maintenance

Thats exactly the reason I switched from polytour pro and ended up trying strike.. Very good decision in the end.. also using vcore

It really depends on your play style which is the best string for your game and of course how stiff your racquet is e.g. you don't want to put ina full bed of stiff poly in a very stiff frame

I’m personally debating (and play testing) between the pure strike 98” 16x19 vs the 100” 16x19. I know you’ve reviewed both, just not one against the other. To me it feels 98” more stable due to higher swing weight. 100” more manoeuvrable due to slightly lighter frame (and maybe 100” size playing some difference). Power wise I think the 100” may have a bit more but not ridiculously more. Have you any wise words to help me with my decision?

I'm confused in the way to talk about the more Crips string as the more comfortable sting? I'm looking for a string for percept 100D which i currently have hyperG 1.20 @50 and I'm looking for a little more comfort and power. I'm finding current set up feels to crisp and is not hitting a very heavy ball. Do you think zero might add some 🔥

I am not sure if I can put this one right, I am not a native English speaker, but I will try: I don´t think that moonballers were displayed correctly is this training session. Because one thing that moonballers do very well is to place the ball close to the baseline and not close to the service line. You can´t just rip a moon ball. Well, you can, but you will need to do it behind the baseline and the moonballer has enough time to comfortly get to your shot. I was at the Juniors´ Chamionship in Düren (I live there) and saw a perfect example: Both players were 12 (give or take) year old girls. One of them won the first set (let´s call her Miss Henin, perfect technique, sensational shots, beautiful to watch), her opponent (let´s call her Miss Gilbert) switched to moonballs and won the second set. I saw the drama of frustration unfold, it was a mere pain to watch a sensational Tennis ballet piece of art being punished with the loss of a set. Couldn´t watch the third set tbh. Shame on me. But what I saw was Miss Gilbert play very high and long moonballs, but when it was necessary, she could hit a passing shot just as well as Miss Henin. Henin started to play some moonballs as well, but returned to playing aggressive hard shots down the line after two or three of these, because as a regular player, it feels awkward to do so. And it pulls your body tension down as well. But after three or four aggressive shots she missed. Miss Gilbert could have done her moonballing thing all day, but you can´t hit the line 10 times in a row. And Gilbert was always fast enough to run comfortably to any shot that came to her, she never gave Henin any angles. So even future pros struggle with moonballs, not only since Arantxa Sanchez or Brad Gilbert started to pull this strategy. That was when even actual pros had trouble dealing with them. The moonballs are always long and high enough to force you to play a half volley or go back to the fence. Except low amateur level, but I guess we are talking about serious competition. So before telling the solution (which is hard enough to achieve, otherwise moonballing wouldn´t be so successful), the real problem is the "trench warfare", as "Fuzzy Yellow Balls" call it. You get pushed back to the fence, the way out is risky, requires a very good situational awareness and a high amount of discipline: you need a good offensive shot, you need to know when to come to the net, you need to be able to play smashes from high above, and you need to be patient to wait for the right moment to attack. If you excel at swing volleys or drop shouts you have a perfect way out of moon balls. If not you will struggle, just like little Miss Henin did.

Ezone 100 IMO is not a "power" frame, as Yonex advertise it, but more of a slightly spin-oriented balance racquet, with 98 being a truly balance racquet. Vcore 100 is quite a bit more of a power-oriented racquet, and interestingly generate less spin but more power than the Ezone 100/98.

Also depends on the racquet. I will go higher in a power racquet, but a lot lower in a control racquet such as my Prestige Pro with a dense string bed where even 48lbs would be too boardy and 44lbs unleashes much greater playablity. In any case, love your videos. Keep up the great content!

Thank you very much for the nice job, it would be very interesting to try and compare the other technicians of the strings, such as the thickness, a 22kg racket with 1.15 thick and the other 22kg with 1.35 thickness. Also Stiffness, two stringing rackets in the same pounds with a very soft polyester and the other with a very hard etc, and last to test the theory with the same string but in different pounds the mains and crosses.

Very interesting.. It also depends on how tight the string bed is and the size of the hoop. I have a Dunlop cx200 tour 18x20 which i string 2 to 3 pounds lower than i would string a speed mp. I have tried a lot and i like to setup my strings proportionally and a 3 pounds lower cross string compared to the main. Proportionally in my case is (in the main) from the middle sideways 3 strings at 23kg, then the next 2 strings 22,5 kg (which is about 1 lbs lower) and after that every need string 1 lbs lower. On the cross i start 4 lbs lower than the middle on the top and bottom 4 crosses with each string a 1 lbs higher (on the top) and 1 lbs lower (on the bottom) To my opinion this increases the sweet spot and spin without decreasing control. But it could also be in my mind. Oh and I'm always stringing a 2 poly hybrid with an edged main string and round cross string.

On your edge and round string hybrid - does the edged string cut into the round? I was wondering that the other day.
@LarzB
@LarzB 2 күн бұрын
@@jean-pierreuys1554 any string cuts into the other one. An edge string cuts a bit more than a round string. But if the cross string would also be an edge string it wouldn't be worseb or better from the main into the cross. In my opinion the edge main with round cross works best to have a little bit more bite and launch angle on my rackets.. Most of my rackets are pretty dense (string pattern), to dail in power and give more control.

The pressuere change in the balls comes from slow diffusion with surrounding air. My guess is that the balls at least needs to sit a couple of days in the chamber. And you cant validate the result by a drop test without comparison. Im being kind now, this is one of the worst reviews ive seen...
