This should be the Plasma Rifle of Doom Eternal to begin with. I find this weapon honestly almost useless due to being outclassed by plenty of weapons

Getting into Doom 2 mods was for me like opening the Pandora's box or something. From Brutal Doom, to Ashes Afterglow and Brutal Wolfeinstein V7... Its just quality FPS content for the rest of your life.

I remember reading an article in a 1997 gaming magazine about a video gaming expo. The journalist described talking to some "Doom sect" that was also present. He told them "Although Doom is simply great, today there are better things you can play". They immediately threatened violence and chased him out 😂 And to think that Doom had been only 3 years old by then. Here we are in 2024 and I don't think there are many other shooters I enjoy outside of Doom mods. Most mainstream games are cringe.

Go use scalpel and some duct tape to make doom eternal "classic alike". Now there is no purpose in other weapons well done

This weapon is really the weaker of the game, like it doesn't have a really utility, exept: kill the soldiers/carcass and deal with the DOOM hunters and spirits but it's not like we saw them at every rounds

Plasma rifle is great in Eternal, but in classic Doom it's basically 2016's mobile turret or Eternal's Unmaykr.

I have I’ve played DOOM 1993 ,DOOM ḻḻ and doom 64 and doom 2016 and doom eternal ( I know the last two games aren’t classic)

Idea for balancing the plasma rifle without buffing it too much: Increase projectile size and allow it to destroy other projectiles mid air like in Doom 3.

The plasma gun didn’t used to be your second machine gun, but I think how it is in eternal is the only way to keep it balanced. At least if the ammo for is going to be so common.

The Microwave beam is the only thing that really sucks about it. The rest is up to personal preference. I like le pew pew sci-fi gun so I use it.

It really sucks tho. No one uses it entirely, almost everyone is going PB Rocket or Ballista Super Shotgun. Even the micro missiles more useful than the whole plasma rifle mods.
