Although Johnny treated everyone well on his show, and we all know he hated competition…. Other than his idols like Jack and Buddy… There’s a palpable feeling that even Johnny knew he was in the presence of a Legend and Greatness … and they were friends for no other reason than they enjoyed and respected one another❤️.

He did it without a "pit crew" telling him what adjustments to make because it was illegal back then. Good chance he used that same ball the entire tournament also.

Ralph and Norton are timeless. We've been watching the Honeymooners for 50 years and still love it. I love that they put a statue of Ralph Kramden in his uniform in Port Authority NY. I worked for Martz Bus Line and it was always a kick seeing that statue.

Met Rudy in the Atlanta area in 2006. He is truly a great guy and one hell of a bowler. Gave me some good advice. I was in my early 20s when i met him. Hope to see him on the senior tour next year.

My idol!! Those balls were all in the pocket. No doubt. Fantastic. He could not throw all those any better. RIP. I will truly miss him. Mark brought concentration and charisma to the game.

Very bold and so hard to say no to more seasons. Most would have said sure and just put anything on. Jackie Gleason knew when it was perfect. It started off as a skit on his variety show but then spun off. So so very thankful that he demanded CBS film the Honeymooners TV series in 35mm film and not just broadcast it live and Kinescope it for the other time zones like they did for the earlier skits. He could see the higher quality that film provides. Because he was so forward thinking then, today we have all 39 of these in glorious High Definition! They look even better than when they were originally broadcast. Like they were filmed just yesterday. Simply AMAZING!

I THINK THAT JACKIE GLEASON ONLY DID ONE SEASON OF THE HONEYMOONERS BECAUSE THE TV EXECUTIVES WOULD NOT LET HIM BEAT AND BATTER HIS TV WIFE ON THE SHOW. IT JUST GOT TOO MUCH FOR HIM. TO THE MOON ALICE TO THE MOON. AHAHAHA AHAHAHA LOL

It's a rare moment when someone has the sense to quit while on top. Another comedy that did this was Flight Of The Conchords.

Tomorrow is the last day.... So get yourself a slice of pizza while you can at Lenny's... But that's the scene of Saturday Night Fever (1977 Movie) comes to mind 🥺😢😉 The trouble with me is that I was a newborn baby (Born 1977) when the movie Saturday Night Fever was filmed in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn NY USA 🇺🇸

I wonder what the newspapers wrote in 1956 why they stopped the show. I never believed that nonsense that Gleason said that his script writers ran out of ideas. He should have hired Lucy's script writers as they were able to do hundreds of episodes of her show, not just 39 shows like he did.

They didn’t have the expression at the time, but it sounds like Gleason ended The Honeymooners because he didn’t want the show to keep going until it jumped the shark.
