Loved the video and the detail your went into describing the car. This Espada really is a great. Yours just happens to be the first Espada I've ever seen going way back to 2001 and previously owned by a friend. So glad it ended up in the good hands of appreciative owners who will continue to enjoy it. If you are interested in any other Lamborghinis we just happen to have something interesting you'd enjoy in your collection.

The Lamborghini Espada holds a special place in my petrolhead heart, especially this Series One-it’s something to be cherished. It even shares the same taillights as my 1968 Fiat Sport Coupe. But I’ll admit, it took years for me to appreciate its design. In photos, it always looked oddly proportioned, almost like a Lagonda-too wide, too long. Then I saw a few in person, and when I finally sat in one, everything fell into place. Just one piece of advice: don’t touch the carburetors. Seriously, don’t. They aren’t the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse-they’re six, and they’ll rain chaos on your life if you’re not careful.

Great car, great vid, as always... I would say that the steering wheel is from a series 2 or 3. The steering wheel of the early cars have the design of the Marzal steering wheel.
@ahaugland1
@ahaugland1 3 күн бұрын
Tha sk for that, though I am having a hard time finding an image of a series 1 car with a different steering wheel. The original test car certainly had the rather odd Mazal steering wheel, but if it changed, I don't know when it changed. My only real reference, however, is images of other Series 1 cars, but as mentioned in the video, even within the Series 1 cars there were changes such as the rear slats, , so it is possible, that my caray have had a different steering wheel they was replaced but also possibly later Series 1 cara used the later.style steering wheel.

Joel can probably speak more to this as he is making most of the music selections, but we have a music library we have purchased access rights to, from which we are drawing our music, trying to find music that fits the feel of the car. This ensures that the rights are paid for and the artists receive compensation. At the same time, we wanted to give the artists additional recognition by specifically crediting them through the videos. There's some great music available and the idea of not only opening up a detailed look into classic cars that people may not have any experience with, but also sharing a range of artists in the music is a driving force in creating the feel of the videos we produce.

I am curious what in particular put you off the music selections for this video, or is it that there is music at all? The goal of the music for this was to fit the era and the vibrant cutting edge nature of the car at the time, and we felt the music choices worked well for that. If we failed, it would be good to know how. If you want no music at all, then this may not be the right channel for you and the episodes would not flow anywhere near as well. Having watched parts of this without the music as we were editing, it definitely feels much more disjointed and longer than it actually is, as opposed to with the music it flows better and time seems to pass quicker.

@@Everyday2Exotic I'm not convinced.....Anyway, car looks immaculate. Unusual to see one in black. Weren't there some factory RHD Espadas, but would they have been later series cars? The review of the interior switchgear may be the most realistic assessment ever done. There is a British KZbin channel called Harry's Garage, which you may be familiar with. He has a few nice cars and borrows others for test drives. One of the latter was a 365GT4 2+2. Partway through an authoritative explanation of the centre console switchgear, he just said, "and then it all gets a bit peculiar, I'm not really sure what these do."

@@bobyokey We've definitely seen some of the Harry's Garage videos and love them! Right now, we're in the UK about to attend the Goodwood Revival, which starts today, so Amy was test-driving one of her outfits for Goodwood, while I'd opted to dress in more of a 1940's style. Unfortunately, I didn't have the clothes yet when we filmed the 1949 Bentley, but they may make an appearance in a later video. What Joel said is true however! I was looking at 1960s, but couldn't find the right style of plaid pants! I'm fairly certain that there were right-hand drive Espadas, at least in later series cars, but with this one being as early as it was, it was likely bought specifically to have one of the first ones in the UK and you get what you can get. I don't know if there were any right hand drive Series 1 cars produced, but as it is the smallest series of Espadas, even if they introduced them in the Series 2 cars, it wouldn't be too far along in the production by the time they were available.

Glad to hear it! Definitely let us know if you figure it out, as we'll keep doing it! I'd agree that this is one of the better videos we've put out so far, as well as our longest. We were uncertain about how well the longer videos would be received, but after releasing the 1949 Bentley video and having it go somewhat viral, at least by the standards of our less than 1 year old channel. people are enjoying them. Right now this is one of my favourite cars in the collection (in the top 25 or so), thus I was very happy to get this one made and released. Personally, I have little interest in the later Lamborghinis, but the early cars when they were figuring out what the brand was and striving to create something different and great, are definitely my favourites. You can probably buy 5-6 good Espadas for the price of one Miura right now and they're a somewhat undiscovered car for many but looking at some of the bigger more interesting and diverse collections owned by people who drive their cars, the Espada frequently features. For example Harry Metcalf (Harry's Garage) owns one and Jay Leno owns two. There's also a great video put out by Hagerty with Magnus Walker driving and reviewing an Espada which confirms much of what I love about the car as well!
