3:03 - The woman at the left appears to be wearing the outfit that Lucy wore in the "I Love Lucy" episode in which Lucy tells Ricky she's pregnant. I recognize its design, especially the collar & cuffs. It was even re-created on an "I Love Lucy" Barbie doll.

I Love Lucy - The Fabulous Four - saw it when it first came out in 1951 and it got me thru Covid-19. People said Lucy could not make it w/o Desi - she did make it again in The Lucy Show - then when she and Vivian Vance split up after 3 seasons, she did beautifully (actually I liked the last 3 seasons better - and she won Emmys in the last 2 seasons in 1967 & 1968.) While doing The Lucy Show - she had to buy Desi out due to his continued heavy drinking Desilu was losing money - so she was starring in and producing The Lucy Show while running Desilu Studios. After several years Desilu was making money and she sold it for 17 Million. Lucy was also raising two children at the same time. Had a lot on her plate! I admired & loved her in about about 10 -15 movies. And when people minimize her brilliance and ability - or are negative about her doing such - well I feel the opposite. Loved the "Here's Lucy" Featurette (1970) her knowledge and abilities blew me away!

Here we have two legions of physical comedy! I am thinning the young Lady who was Lucy's customer at the opening was her own daughter, Lucie but I am not sure

Nobody yet has mentioned the gray-haired lady who's front row center in the audience. That's Bess Flowers, the Queen of the Hollywood Extras from movies and TV. She was in hundreds of things. Sometimes people thought she was a good luck charm, but evidently not this time. She was also in three episodes of I Love Lucy.

Lucy had Mary’s aura understood and down , respected Mary very much and richly deserved. Both women had a great work ethic and took their comedy seriously.

I hate that people have to die! I know it sounds childish, but it hurts to not have so many beautiful people that made history for our country and so many beautiful memories for us all, still around for us to enjoy and for them to see what impact their lives had on us!! Sure wish people lived hundreds of years like in the Bible! So much more could get done!!

When ya put comedy giants in sketches that are not funny ya still end up with a failed series 🙎🏼

Lucy and Jack Benny notoriously did not get along and Jack had some very strong words about her!
@louislamonte3344 ай бұрын
Although the "kids" are obviously really talented this whole effort is rather mediocre. None of the songs are catchy or really even that good. This material was the same stuff that all the variety shows and specials were doing at the same time. None of the material is even that original. This was done when Lucy & Desi's marriage was seriously on the rocks and they would divorce early in 1960. Lucy, Desi, Vivian and Desi are merely window dressing here.

The great thing about Desi and Lucy is that they shared the wealth with William and Vivian. They were very generous because desi and lucy were both staving actors then placed into a position of leadership. They took care of their own

Back when she could - and wanted to - play characters other than "Lucy Ricardo". Interestingly, Roger C. Carmel showed up later in a show produced by Lucy's ex-husband Desi Arnaz - the "Mothers-In-Law". And Roger only lasted one season because when the show came up for renewal, he balked at the salary. Richard Deacon (of "Dick Van Dyke Show") stepped in. And then the show was canceled.

It’s 2024, and I observe that these college kids look so much younger, innocent, wide-eyed, eager, and respectful than the ones of today. I would say the decline of tv had a lot to do with the decline in the younger generation. And it’s only getting worse.
