Yes, I know her. Nice aeroplane, looking good on the ramp. Disadvantages are : Range is too small. If you're flying IFR with a nearby alternate in your fuel planning, you can fly just around 2:45. That's all. A little bit more if you're planning without Alternate airport. And the redicilous MTOM of 1999 kgs. For 1.4 million € the owner should expect more.

Nice and adventurous flight! Professional flying and good common sense. Why was the EFIS speed tape not working on the leg to Iceland? I have a GFC500 autopilot in my aircraft and a clogged pitot tube would get the stickpusher to activate! The carburetor temperature and the RPM's didn't seem very reliable neither. Any way, good job! By the way: we share the same birthday.

I have flown some turbine twins over the Atlantic . We had this red suits but never wear them. The boat neer the exit and two guys to move out that hole would be a horrific event. The whole gig was to get it in it on time. Looking at the insurance reports most crashes does not deliver survivors.

Wearing the survival suit is not terribly comforting. Seems like planning to ditch. The heat should operate like automotive heat. No additional fuel consumption.

Never heard of a twin bonanza, I thought Baron was the twin bonanza. And apparently it is. Baron replaced it in 1960. What is a bizarre failure of piston twins is that they consistently use very close to double the amount of fuel as the single despite the cabin being the same. That is just fantastically offensive.
@KFEAvia14 күн бұрын
Its a Beechcraft, but not a Baron :) Baron replaced Twin Bonanza, you are right here. Multi engine concept gives you a chance to get yourself safe to land, shall the engine fail at night or in IMC - not more than that; and a little bit of a speed and payload :)

Cold? I know two guys that took a Cirrus across the Atlantic in February. Between Greenland and Iceland, the right door popped open. They, of course, had their dry suits on but it got so cold in the cabin that the coffee froze in the thermos bottle. Then, the magneto was giving them trouble, so the plane had to wait for a new mag to arrive. Each time the big hangar door had to open to put the plane inside or out, they charged $1000. One of the two guys hitched a ride the rest of the way to Denmark in he back of a new Citation Mustang. BTW, I used to build IGSO-480 Lycoming engines, like the two on that Bonanza. The nose reduction gear case had close to 500 bits and pieces in it, counting the individual needle bearings inside the spur gears.
