I just hope that I get to perform this song with one of my bands someday. Someday.

I was fortunate to be a part of this, myself and about 17,000 other singers submitted our videos during Covid when it was unsafe to sing with our own choirs and chorales. Being able to participate and sing this beautiful music was a blessing. I am grateful.

I saw a post from Eric Whitaker and I had to come back to see this, after 14 years. I remember when I first heard this when I was 12/13 entering high school. Since that day the musical and personal growth/ opportunity has been insane. And since that day I've done exactly what the song says. Just fly. Later on, Jacob collier took my attention 😂 this masterpiece will always have my heart though. ❤

We played this song as the visitors left my mom’s funeral a little over a year ago. She was an organist for over 50 years in the church where her funeral was held. I know she enjoyed the harmonies of this song and was smiling as all of her friends walked out of the church. She was a force and I miss her every day. ❤️

Every single time I watch and listen to this video I can't help but get choked up and shed a few tears knowing and seeing all the people in the skyscraper windows who sang together. This is what I believe all those millions/billions in heaven will sound like singing at God's throne! If this doesn't move you to believing in Him then you need to get down on your knees and pray to be permitted to hear such a wonderous choir after you die. Fly to Paradise it the perfect title for it!

Put this on a gold record and leave it in a vault so that in the far distant future when someone or something finds we can say with pride "THIS is who we were. Despite everything we did, THIS IS WHO WE WERE AND WHAT WE COULD DO TOGETHER". If this is the only thing we leave behind, we can be proud and hold our heads up and stare the universe down.

See. I wish I participated in things like this. I never realized how suffocated I was by my own hand but also by the hand of very powerful negative forces in my time of working in the medical field. If I could go back I would leave the state and leave the toxic forces operating against me in my own town of good and great people withstanding such awful people and leave and grow and participate in things like this. And get away from them. And leave disease and death and more threats and intimidations and try my best to start again but I couldn’t and can’t. And I would give anything to do it now but I cannot as I risk serious consequences to my health. I would give anything to be a part of something other than disease death and the pleasures of psychopaths.

Where can I watch this VOCES8 video? I can't find it on your channel. BTW, I sang alto on the original Sing Gently virtual choir in 2020. Listening to it again tonight gives me courage & hope during this difficult time for our nation. I wonder what Eric is writing these days. Anxious for his tender, compassionate voice to inspire us again. Bless you. - Lisa from CA

I only just found this video, and I don’t know how I’ve missed it all these years. Hearing Eric talk about “A Boy and a Girl” is always a pleasure-it’s such a special piece of music. And the quality and depth of conversation between Eric and Lac, the open sharing of process by putting the Satisfied demo next to the Broadway version and taking us through it-my music nerd brain is just exploding.

A red curtain slowly opens. Rows of little screens, showing people of all ages and colors, fill the stage against a dark background. In the center appears 5 a man. He soon begins conducting and disappears. Then the singing images move slowly to the music. Some of them are zoomed in to show different faces. There is neither an orchestra nor an audience. The singers have never met 10 each other or practiced together. Yet a song called "Lux Aurumque" is performed by a beautiful mix of voices. This is a "virtual choir."
