I'm a choral director in Canada. With covid, I was facing a crisis. How could I keep my students singing through this trying time, and how could I keep involved in the greater choral community? This came along at just the perfect time. I am very proud not only of my contributions, but those of my friends, and those of my students. I always told them that choir has the ability to bring together singers, not only in the community you live in, but globally. Unfortunately, covid broke my program, and the school is focusing on instrumental music now. HOWEVER, the students involved with this and one other virtual choir project we did with the high school will always have this to look back on. Sing on everybody!

My chorus teacher almost joined this but she chose not to because she thought she might mess up and she even said today that she would've changed her mind and this is beautiful and the effort put into this is astonishing I want to do a virtual choir or chorus but I'm going to try arranging one for my teacher even though I'm a 6th grader lol

We played this song as the visitors left my mom’s funeral a little over a year ago. She was an organist for over 50 years in the church where her funeral was held. I know she enjoyed the harmonies of this song and was smiling as all of her friends walked out of the church. She was a force and I miss her every day. ❤️

If someone asked you, "Are the land masses on top or our planet uniquely shaped?, You'd probably say "no" (meaning- there's nothing to them, they are just there). What if I told you they where arranged for a purpose for us to find and understand one day? In 2010 using Google Earth (best to use that year if you look all this up on Google Earth to try it for yourselves) I discovered Our Planet AND Google Earth TOGETHER - Tell the SAME STORY of CREATION, that matches the BIBLE PERFECTLY. Our Whole Planet is covered with WATERMARKS. They are in the form of PICTURES AND COMBINE THEM ALL TOGETHER AND THEY TELL THE STORY OF CREATION....AND THEY EVEN SHOW A IMAGE OF GOD HIMSELF (the Creator of this Fantastic Discovery). Please I'm begging anyone who took the time to read all of this to come see what I found and let me prove it to you once and for all God is as real as you and me. Come see what I found and then please help me tell others because KZbin and the atheists are doing all they can for you to not see this. It changes everything. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jai2cnuel7R7osk As hard as it is to believe, I promise you, what I found will convince you. Please give me a chance to prove myself. " she said excitedly. Her excitement made me very, very happy. You see, just over a year ago, my Mum had a major stroke that has left her paralyzed down her left side and she has been suffering from major depression because of it - she now lives in a nursing home and has to rely on our brave frontline workers to care for nearly all her needs. I hadn't heard her be this animated in almost 18 months. So, to bring this much joy to my Mum, I am beyond grateful to Eric Whitacre; his beautiful wife, Laurence; his team; and all the other 17,571 singers who dedicated their time & commitment to making a beautiful piece of art that made at least one lovely lady happy. The Fox That is in no way what that comment was saying. It’s “brainwashing” people similar to you who drove me to write the comment I did. Music can allow for messages of peace and happiness to heard, to change an audience. We are not being brainwashed, simply trying to rid some of the hate that exists. So please take your “brainwashing and propaganda” somewhere else.

The Fox seems like you just hate what they did. Please take your negative energy elsewhere and let these people be proud of what they have accomplished. Any performance is one to be proud of and clearly ALL of these people have done something amazing that you just don’t know how to appreciate. I at least hope you can see some of their talent and those are my finals words to you.
@erikshure3603 жыл бұрын
Was this work absolutely beautiful to listen to? Yes. Did it bring tears to my eyes? Yes, but this singing will not stop real hate. Perhaps you have a superficial understanding of why people hate each other. This world is not made up of "one" people, we are all different and unique. Why do you think everyone is talking about diversity and inclusion; answer: it's because humans are not all the same. We have different values, morals, and different needs -- and when these values clash we get conflict, brutal conflict. Revolving this conflict with take a lot more than just singing to resolve.

I've sung in choirs some 32 years and have conducted a church choir for about 6 years. I love composers like Eric Whitacre, Ola Gjielo, Dan Forrest, Rob Gardner, John Rutter, and others. This was my first time doing a VC. What a privilege it was to be a part of this! While singing solo and submitting a video recording pales in comparison to a real choir experience, I enjoyed the unity of this unique experience. After eight or nine takes, and staying up until 2 AM the day before the deadline, I added my small Bass II contribution and became yet another point of light amidst the sea 17500+ other singers and signers who shared their talent and love for good choral music and the beauty of artistic expression. Well done to all my other virtual choir mates, to the production crew who put it together, and especially Eric for composing it! I spent over an hour listening to this marvelous recording again and again Sunday night while reading everyone's beautiful comments and contemplating God's goodness. I strongly believe God inspired Eric to write this piece precisely at a time when the world needed it the most. God was not surprised by the pandemic, by riots, divisive politics etc. I believe he prepares beacons of light like this in advance of such events. Stars shine the brightest in the dark of night. The darkness reveals their brightness all the more. Thank you all for being stars and lighting up the night. Let us all sing forever gently as one! May God bless and keep you all!

In quantum physics, there is such thing as coherence. Coherence is when a group of drummers are playing in rythym at the same time. If one was out of tune, it wouldn't sound nice. You are in fact a body of energy. Either living as a coherent being, in tune. Or incoherently, out of tune and rythym. You can move into rythym by opening your focus to the space around you and moving into a state of love. Just like these singers, singing from their hearts. And them all coming together as one to make a beautiful symphony. Imagine if all lived with love in their hearts at the same time. What World would we live in? What World would you live in? Live in love.

Irene Shettle . Thanks for being part of our VC6 family! Maybe post your pic and I can help you look. An idea: grab an Iphone or your Hi Def camera, take a screenshot of the screens where all of us are slowly scrolling down to become that final collage. Then in your spare time, look at each photo and screen enlarge. You won’t see it very clearly but you will be able to see faces. Good luck!

@@fr.wilfredocontreras7272 Thanks ... I don't have an iPhone or a Hi Def camera. I have downloaded the photos that one of our number put onto Dropbox with the intention of looking at them later ... but at the moment there are so many other things to do which, despite being in self-isolation due to being one of the clinically vulnerable ones and staying at home most of the time, seem not to have got done!! It would be interesting to "find myself" (I find that the repeated use of that phrase keeps making me laugh - I know where I am, sitting right here on the sofa! LOL) However, I know that I am in there, my name is on the credits, and I know that I took part in something huge and rather important ... it'll suffice. I'm not too sure where I have stored my video, so sending you a shot at the moment would be difficult. I will bear your kind offer in mind! In the meantime - sing gently ! :-)

This might sound a bit odd but when I listen to a choir of music on a scale as large as this I cant help but feel that this is what the voice of humanity sounds like if we get past our differences and work together as a species towards something. I dont know if what im saying makes much sense but that is the only way I can describe a project such as this. Extremely moving piece and it gives me a sense of hope for humanity's future.

I will never forget the pandemic and how it all broke us into pieces. How it hurted us all and made us helpless in our own time and spaces. After this music, months after I had stroke. After a couple of years, just July 27 I lost my mother. So much pain. But I always look back how this music by Eric saved my life once. I'm forever grateful to this music. It has a pain but it brings light in all darkness I was in. Thank you for the gently touching my life and to others as well. Forever thankful to the Sing Gently batch and to Maestro Eric.
