Hi Abbey! I'm a new listener, and I just wanted to tell you that your podcast has helped me so much. I've quietly struggled with my mental health for years, and have been on such a long journey like you have. I'm always trying to do all the work (exercise, eat healthily, therapies, letting myself cry and process) all while continuing to live my life, work and show up for my relationships with joy even when I'm feeling sad. It can feel really lonely going through all that stuff, so listening to your podcast has really made me feel seen. I also see so much of myself in you... and when I see you talk about what you're going through and have gone through, I don't see a broken person or a difficult person, all I see is a lovely girl that seems kind, smart, caring, and beautiful, which has helped me to realize that maybe that's how some people see me too.

Hi hi, OCD girly here. The way you speak about life not being perfect and being hard and that that is okay made me feel so relieved. Just jumped over to this pod after being an avid listener of WWS after hearing you speak so eloquently as a guest and that you have a pod where you talk about mental health. Love this because OCD can make you feel so isolated so this is so so great for me and I feel like it’s soo brave and awesome of you. Thank you<3

With the not wanting to see scary things like the joker movie, yes i so agree. I, now, avoid scary movies. I also really try to only listen to Christian and county music bc other music, especially sad music, puts me in a sad or scared mood. Matt 6:22-24 guides us to guard our what you consume we bc it overtakes your body

Abbey I have “Whatever is true” Philippians 4:8, as my screensaver. And whenever i start to think things that make me feel bad.. and i see that, i think, “is this *really* true?” And i realize that it is not. How do we know what is true and what is false? God’s word. He says, in John 14:6 that He is the way the TRUTH and the life and that no one can come to the father except through Him. (And Him alone.) Discipline your flesh and focus on reading his word the Bible, what we know is true, every day. I read at least a chapter every morning. :) it helps so much when thoughts come in to combat the lies the enemy puts in your head. Jesus was tempted in every way we were and He did not sin, if we put our trust in Him, we get the helper, the Holy Spirit, with whom we can also resist sin. He was tempted by the devils lies in the garden and he said away from me satan and Satan had to flee. (Matt 4:10) Next time you have those thoughts, use the sword of the spirit (eph 6:17) to tell him he’s a liar. I know this is annoying to hear but i really truly care for you as a friend and can relate to you so I want to share what helps me. ❤

As a person who has been doing social media for around 8 years and has had tons of success and now somehow has around 1.4 million followers, all I would say is to ask yourself the question: Why would people want to watch this? What value is there for them? If you're comparing yourself to others, you will find nothing but depression and anxiety and insecurity. Nothing that anyone else does matters - social media is all about being creative, being yourself (by which I mean do something you're good at and offer something that just came from YOU... not anyone else). You seem to have a lovely personality, nice vibe, and you're pretty - there's a lot of good things there. Regarding the content itself, the only thing that matters is that you're offering something actually valuable to people.. if you're not, it won't work. So it must be: fun, funny, or interesting on some level.. and the higher the level, the higher the success. Peace and love to you.

I don't think anyone is "worthy" of love...I think if we're all honest with ourselves were all horrible people undeserving of love. But we NEED love to thrive. I find myself, when I base who I let in my life (people who treat me good or bad) off of what I "deserve" it fluctuates too much. And I can't have a steady reasoning of who to be close with or how to treat other people. But when I tell myself scientifically and biologically that if I truly want to be a healthy reliable person thatI need someone who will treat me well, then I have no problem excluding certain people from my life, as well as justifying treating "bad" people well. Cause no one deserves it, but if you truly want to see another person succeed then you need to treat them well. Ans I know I'll get a lot of hate for that opinion cause not a lot of people (like no one really) agrees with or take the time to try to understand my perspective, but idk... It is what it is ig.
@DearAbbey6 ай бұрын
I actually really feel this deeply where it's WAY more freeing to admit we don't deserve anything, because then we don't live a life trying to prove that we do deserve when we get something. It's also freeing to stop figuring out who "deserves" my love and just give it (with boundaries lol)

Reminds me of how Jesus touched people when he would help them. The man with leprosy, the woman who had been bleeding, etc. People who hadn’t been touched in years because they were unclean. He could’ve healed them from a distance with words, but He touched them because as the creator, He knows the power that action holds.
