How do you like the front mount vs rear mount? For front mount, can you run any blower or is it a special blower specifically for front mount? Thanks.
@kslift5334Ай бұрын
I do prefer front mount Depending on what pto kit your tractor has depends on what blower you can use. I’m running clockwise pto and can use any blower but if you have counter you need special blower
@stevenpringle7813Ай бұрын
@@kslift5334 I never thought about which way the PTO turned. I thought it was standard. Is the back standard and the front specified when you order the tractor? Are all Deere tractors the same?
@kslift5334Ай бұрын
Basically you can get front whichever way you require, Europe is usually ccw and orchard stuff here requires ccw. I ordered mine clockwise so I could grab any standard blower. I do run front mount discbine but it’s reversible so it will work with both styles as I assume a lot of front pto equipment will. As far as I’m concerned roughly 99% of rear pto are all the same apart from different speed options. I’m not saying there isn’t a pto that can go backwards but I don’t know of it

I’m looking at a used farm king 1080 for my deere 5125R but was worried I might be a little under powered?? That blower looks exactly like the one I’m looking at?? 1000rpm w 36 inch fan? That 7800 would have a little more power but not much. What you think?
@kslift53342 ай бұрын
I can tell you it’s not even close to slowing down my tractor. We have some snow here in spots I have to blow that’s over the blower in depth (driveway on side of long hill) I can’t say exactly how much power my tractor has though as I haven’t owned from new and I can tell someone has tampered with the security plate on the back of the injection pump. I don’t believe it’s turned up much so you should still be good. I can’t remember the min hp on this blower and you have probably looked into it but you should be easily over that
@kslift53342 ай бұрын
I should say I blow at the speed my blower can take snow in. My speed is never dictated by power of tractor. The pto kit installed is half engine speed so I’m roughly 1000 pto also
@mbailey123412 ай бұрын
@@kslift5334 do you know what make and model that blower is? Maybe I missed it in the video??
@kslift53342 ай бұрын
@ same blower 1080 I would have to confirm the fan size but I’m sure that was it because I was thinking when I got it that it would take more power for that fan size

I live in the Deep South. Is this the northern version of “why’d you buy such a big mower for that small a yard” type thing? The answer is “maybe shoulda bought a couple sizes up, still takes too long”.

How is the swap coming along ? Did you have to modify the firewall or just the trans tunnel?
@kslift53348 ай бұрын
It’s goodish, all together and running/driving I do need to blow it all apart for paint someday but haven’t had a chance with work. Just the tunnel, I debated firewall work but pushed rad ahead instead

Is the front pto and front three point factory or did you add it? Any info is appreciated. Thank you!
@kslift53342 жыл бұрын
Its a laforge “factory option” front hitch and I added the front pto when I purchased tractor. The pto kit is zuidberg. Both laforge and zuidberg offer complete kits but I preferred the zuidberg, probably because it was cheaper and I know them better.

Nice work! I have an 8 1/2", rear-mounted snow blower. It is overkill during most of these wimpy winters we have been seeing here in mid-Michigan. But, the day will come when it will work hard to clear the deep snow...I like snow! Yes, a front-mounted blower would be nicer, but any blower sure beats plowing it and making banks that collect more snow.
