Now THAT is a real tractor and a REAL snowblower! Nice to see somebody blowing more than a 1/4 inch of snow and not considering it a “huge snowfall”. The view from outside the cab was awesome, although I would guess shooting from inside cab is probably easier. Great vid brother

I have a JD GT225 with JD 42" BLOWER. To this day I let the garden tractor run above an idle with the snowblower running to warm up tractor and blower bearings and belts. My dad taught me well in the early 60's. Black Land Farmer that he was. Love you Dad💗
@joewoodchuck38245 жыл бұрын
My dad had an open tractor with a rear mounted PTO driven snow blower in northern New York. He used it daily because between storms, lots of snow filled the driveway by blowing in from the surrounding fields. He was bringing my mom to her store 5 days a week. He'd sure like these newer enclosed machines where the winter temps were routinely VERY cold. I wish he was still around. Real tractors are painted green and yellow.

I’m not necessarily a jd guy but I do enjoy it now that I have it. I ran an open station tractor a couple times to clear driveways and if the wind went the wrong direction.....no fun. Good on him for sticking with it. Sorry to hear about your Dad. I lost my Mom less then 2 yrs ago and it’s not that much fun, especially this time of yr. So it’s nice to look back on these memories. Have a great Christmas and God bless.

We keep the snout down a bit more, the snow doesn’t go up so high and get a chance to separate in the air. So we’re basically blowing it more laterally than vertical. The blower beats a tractor and bucket any day of the week!! Nice video...
@kslift53345 жыл бұрын
The tractor only had two wet lines when I did video. It now has one for the spout also and I do use it up a bit to avoid breaking off trees in tight driveways. I’ve built a couple front mount setups and this blower makes more dust by far then the 8’ buhler I sometimes use. Camera position and wind was bad this day though, maybe do another vid better quality this winter. Thanks for comment.

Does any body have that? does it work that way ? Thank You

Thanks. My Dad has a late model versatile bidirectional, (same idea or how new Holland began) the pto is the same end as the loader and 3pt hitch. They work very well for snow removal. I believe I heard once they do have availability for pto and 3pt hitch on engine side, but can’t confirm. I do know they are very different to drive with engine foreword direction.

Do you still run the shear bolt style pto hookup for the blower because I’m constantly breaking shear bolts or did you switch to a slip clutch style one? Or is that even a thing?
@kslift53344 жыл бұрын
I’d bet someone has converted to a slip clutch, but I’ve never seen one. Mine is a bolt and I have never had to change yet. My first yr I borrowed a blower and any wet snow would break the bolt because the hole gets sloppy and breaks bolt easily. There is some sort of collar that you can weld in and make the surface like new to hold on to bolts better. Maybe worth a try, otherwise it’s probably a new shaft..... thanks for comment
