What a great set of stamps. Revenue stamps are overlooked in their beauty. The written ‘cancels’ are also interesting.

Hi Groll - I said on the video in 3:20 that I have the stamps I was pointing to in mint condition - I did not say the stamps I was looking at were in mint condition - you need to listen a bit more carefully before you rip into me

Thankj you Jeff for explaining ANZAC day. I was not aware of this. It is important and therefor really good you bring it to our attention. Maybe a bit weird to say, but that is a beautifully designed stamps, although it is a sad image. Thanks for the video!

Thanks, Jeff! Great video. I like these shorter videos with few stamps, so that one is not overwhelmed with stamps. The New South Wales Q. Victoria stamp is interesting. Very different from the usual style of Queen Victoria stamps. ... You should not throw the Queen around like that! 😉😄🙂

Hi Charnie !! Yes I love that NSW Q Victoria stamp - yes it is not becoming to throw the Queen around :) - lucky when the stamp dropped it did not land in my cup of coffee!!

Hi Jeff! When I find a stamp with a hinge remnant I know that stamp has been in someone’s album at one time. And that tells me that they loved it as well. I think that adds to the experience of philately! Great video!

why didn't they check the centering of the cutting of the perf's...a little to the left and a little down would have been the answer

Hi Roger - not sure - but I suppose they did their best for the equipment they had in the 1800’s and early 1900’s. The King George the V and V1 stamps that took over had all sorts of variants and even different shades of ink because of having to source different ink suppliers around the world due to WW2

Hi Jeff. Interesting about the forming of Australia in 1901, and that it took 12 years before the first Australia stamp was issued. Meanwhile, after 1901, NSW still issuing stamps in 1908. Is Australia a complex area to collect, when you take the colonial part with it? Did all states issue their own stamps? Sorry, I know so little about Australia, hence why your channel is so useful and wonderful! Thanks for the video!

I've never understood how to keep stamps in order in a stockbook and yours aren't either. You just put them in as they come or what?

Hi Dennis - I sort of have them in my own order - royally stamps in the beginning - colonial all together - birds together - flower stamps all together - war stamps all together - Antarctic stamps all together etc - when I get some new albums I will start making entire albums for birds, entire albums for flowers etc. I have other albums already just for overseas stamps which I am slowly filling :)
