The pricing is too high. For 40k, you might as well go for the bmw x1 for a little more. I bought a new f56 in 2015 for 25k which was way below MSRP. These cars tend to stay on lots for a long time so make a low offer and you will probably get it.

Hi you messaged me back a few days ago about a comment I made on the new Mini - sorry not to reply - Christmas and all that! So, I've had the 2025 Mini Cooper for about 3 weeks now. I’ve owned 2nd gen Minis since 2004 - think this is my 12th - I do love my Minis!! We are an older couple - we are not techy people! Previously we were quite happy to listen to our choice of music on a USB stick placed in the port provided front middle under the toggle switches. This has now gone! There’s no USB port! There’s a small charging port behind central armrest which is for charging only - next to the cigarette lighter. So, these are my annoying issues - 1 We are not phone people! I love my iPad but really not into phones so we can’t use CarPlay etc unless I buy a decent phone! 2 So I’ve bought an FM transmitter adapter from Amazon that goes into cig lighter then speaks to Bluetooth and the digital display and USB stick goes into the adapter- all very longwinded and definitely seems a step backward for such a hi-tech car!! 🤦♀️😡 3 Every time we get into the car we have to readjust the heat and fan settings - they automatically appear on 22 degrees and Medium fan?!! 4 We were ‘bullied’ into having the Mini App! Our dealership people were biting ‘pressured’ to make sure we have it! 5 This App has now slowed down my less than hi-tech phone as it’s taken up lots of memory!! 6 To set the App up properly I was meant to scan a QR code in the car - my phone doesn’t do scanning!! To sum up I just find the whole thing an overload of tech but I’m no longer able to do a simple thing like listen to music - simply!! I’ve accepted that I will probably have to get an iPhone or similar very soon - just for the car really! Then I hear that Spotify etc aren’t free anyway - I will have to,pay a subscription……!! I’ll stop now…… Any helpful thoughts gratefully received……..

We mostly use the Shortcuts to hold our favorite FM/Sirius stations along with a handful of app shortcuts. What's confusing is having Favorites and Shortcuts. Feels like you don't need both - Shortcuts have more usefulness, IMO.

They've ruined all the Minis in this generation. They've taken the fun out of these cars. They've always been so much more than just fun to drive. It's been the total fun package. Now it's a boring BMW with the Mini label on it. Sad day for Mini.

This is a completely different question. After picking up my Countryman SE, I need to figure out how to handle the reverse function and now it should work. Sounds weird, I'll explain. On my previous EV when I stopped and put it in reverse, the accelerator had to be depressed to make the car move, simple. However on the mini, is seems to have a mind of its own as sometimes, reverse is selected and it will then start to creep which is fine but other times, nothing happens until the accelerator is depressed then it will shoot backwards and is not easy to control. My understanding is that it should just creep but I cannot find any settings in OS9 to help? Any suggestions will be appreciated.😀

My biggest issues are in general the connectivity. It's working on off . The Hey Mini/spike is useless in Denmark. I have set it to English as it does't support danish, but navigation is useless. Then trying to navigate to a specific place it suggest something in the UK. Sigh. Spotify is working on off. My android auto did work but now it doesn't....could be because mobile was updated to android 15...still not sure. Would love to be able to specify which screen menus I would like to see and in which order so you can swipe between the ones you use mostly.

I find what you said about the Clubman interesting. In reality, I think the F54 Clubman was a mistake despite how cool/good it was, and they should have just squared off the back end of the Cooper 4 door and called that the Clubman. The Clubman was always a variant of the Cooper until the F54, and as a result shared a lot of parts which would spread the cost of engineering and manufacturing amongst the entire Cooper lineup. I believe creating a Clubman with a bespoke set of panels is what doomed it, as it's much harder to justify keeping it around as a relatively niche vehicle. They should square off the back of the F65, push the rear seats back a couple inches (if possible), and sell it as the new Clubman. Personally I'd be far more likely to buy a Clubman than the F65... maximizing usability of a small footprint has always been the Mini way, and an F65 Clubman variant would do just that

So if it doesn’t have Apple Music can you still stream your own playlists on an iPhone? I don’t want to shell out for an iPhone and find it doesn’t work properly in the new Mini as I would be principally getting one for that reason.
@MotoringFile14 күн бұрын
It has Apple Music as part of the wireless CarPlay or even via Bluetooth. So while there’s no stance alone app, it’s extremely easy to use Apple Music.

my only real limitation to a MINI is the closest dealer is 60+ miles away. The closest BMW dealer is just 14. Are BMW techs 'automaticly' MINI techs if I need non-standard service? A 60 mile tow is not great and extremely inconvenient.

I really wish Mini would reintroduce the Clubman. I love mine, and I'd love to see a 2025 third generation of one. I think the clubman is a versatile vehicle and seats 4 people more comfortably than the 4 door cooper. I am hoping so since the Aceman isn't available here, and I don't prefer EVs anyhow.

Keeping the 4 door over the clubman is a huge misstep in my opinion.

My previous car was a Ford focus RS, which was a blast. I do miss the RS. But the Club brought back that feeling. It's no RS but I get a smile on my face when I drive it and it's by far way more comfortable! Can't wait to try it on the snowy mountain roads.

Well i have had a slightly a different experience where the OS9 has not been very stable. for example a couple of times the UI stopped working and i could not do anything with it until i turned the engine off and back on again, other times the Hey Mini, the voice command, would not work and again i had to turn the engine off and back on to get it to work again and things like that. but one of my major complaints is that i cannot permanently turn off the auto engine off and on function where it always goes back to the default setting where the engine stops behind a red light or when stopped and then turn itself back on when you take your foot off of the brake. I find this feature very annoying specially in the city driving and i want to have that function off preeminently as default setting unless i choose to use it but Mini does not let you save that setting. Also the navigation system although has a nice UI, is not very accurate to take you to your destination and during the navigation the voice prompt to tell you where to turn is a second or two late and does not give you enough advance notice to get ready for the turn by changing lane or is a second late in warning you where you need to turn which by then you have missed your turn. So i use my phone navigation instead.

Horrible that the JCW is not available in the 4 door Cooper S hardtop. We are leasing the 2024 Cooper S 4 door hardtop in Zesty Yellow white roof and Signature trim. It is a great deal roomier than the 2 door. There is no way we are downsizing to a 2 door so as to get the increased HP and torque. All the other goodies in the JCW pkg for the 4 door are too much dough for not enough go. One KZbinr surmised you are seeking “exclusivity” by keeping the JCW on the 2 door. We also will not be getting the Countryman so as to gain the HP and torque increases. We love our paddles and use them all the time in Sport mode; now no paddles and you have to get the JCW “package” on the 4 door to get paddles! What are you doing? However unintended although I feel it is very much INTENDED these are cynical decisions on your part forcing people to upgrade to what should be standard (paddles) and only offering full JCW on Countryman or 2 door models; shame on you. The JCW on the Copper S 4 door sedan would make it a sports sedan; a barn stormer. Boy are you missing out on sales and alienating customers. End of rant but for all the talk about how you listen to customers I bet in 16 months when we are ready for our next lease nothing will have changed; bottom line consciousness only and yes cynical. Ironic the cleverness is costing you sales. Next door to our Mini store is a BMW store perhaps we will roll into an X2 xDrive28i Coupe.

Follow up/ addendum. We went to build a 2025 Mini Cooper S 4 Dr Hardtop Signature Plus trim. Imagine our surprise when almost each time we attempted to add an option our trim level switched to Iconic! So what I surmised earlier is true. Now more than ever you are forcing your customers to higher trim levels for options that should be made available to remain in the Signature Plus trim. This is transparently cynical and off putting. Before I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt but now there is no doubt and my observations are almost unanimously echoed in various Mini forums; just greedy; disgusting really to abuse loyal customers and short sighted too for you will lose them. We have already started looking elsewhere. A premium product as an excuse only goes so far. In some instances an MSRP of 43K is simply not competitive.
