I have a friend in Southern California, where I live, who is a voiceover artist. She can literally do almost every accent from every continent in the world. Except for one, the American one. I was totally blown away when she told me that. She is originally from London by the way.

There are so many accents that aren't your valley girl or white person. The latin-american accent from LA, Puerto Rican English Accent from the Bronx, Black American Accents running up and down the East Coast.

I'm British/Canadian, and having lived in Southern England most of my life sound very English, but can do quite a convincing generic Dixieland accent. Also, despite never having visited Ireland, my Ulster accent is uncanny.
