Quite helpful! Do you tend to start all your bass lines with a long notes or it was just a one off?
@craigwilliamsmusic8 күн бұрын
I will switch it up to get different flavours if I want a less driving line I’ll have longer lines. If I want it to be more fluid and chill I’ll lean into longer notes.

Why not put a proper stand-alone sequencer (not talking about that 8-step arp) in here so it becomes a proper MIDI keyboard for live shows instead of just a DAW controller? If Akai can do it for less money why can't you?

Unfortunately, I have zero say or input over the design. That would be a question for the design team.

Hi Craig! What is your set-up with NINA and Ableton? I'm getting crazy buzz when I use their DAW input and connect to a Macbook. I'm sending midi from an arturia keystep into my mac, midi back out using external instrument from Ableton to the NINA. Then capturing audio from the nina via TRS cables into a Duet. As soon as I connect the DAW input with a USB C cable I get a crazy buzz. What's your midi/audio set-up with the nina for recording? Awesome tutorial - thank you!

Hahahahhahaha one thing I learnt over the years is the end listener doesn’t care what you use to make a track. Plug-ins, all analog, all digital. If the song is good the song is good. If it’s bad, it’s bad. No amount of expensive gear is going to fix a crappy song.

Vibrato would be pitch wouldn’t it? I think tremolo is volume. Great recommendations for movement. When I’m writing ambient or downtempo I tend to use a lot of modulation but I always overlook it when writing faster genres. Appreciate the video. Good reminder to use lfo’s to create intrigue and change.
@warlock242Ай бұрын
That's exactly what I was gonna say. This is not vibrato but tremolo.

Its most likely a crappy connector on the piezo inside the boss. I have an Alesis Sample Pad pro. Had to swap out the piezo on one pad before now. The problem is that the pad gets tapped and theres a bit of flex. Sadly - solder doesn't fkex.

I loved the update but hate that octatrack which is way older, got the option to adjust the slice start/stop but they’ve skipped it on the OG Takt & the 2!

I feel that. From my understanding the Digitakt 1 doesn’t have enough power to do this but the Digitakt 2 does. Hopefully they will add it down the road.

Coming from LSDJ, the m8 workflow is ideal, but I actually have a headless build using an anbernic rg40xxv and a teensy 4.1 so I don't see the point of upgrading to the actual m8 hardware. Im actually tempted to buy the Polyend mini.

One thing about the Chord Map feature that I wish they'd change, is that there is no way to 'freeze' one of the chords at whatever inversion you like best. You can only keep cycling through the inversions by holding down one of the modifier pads. Wouldn't it make a lot more sense to be able to choose whichever one you like for that song, and apply it to that chord pad?
@craigwilliamsmusicАй бұрын
I’m going to pass this along to the rest of the team to see about a possible update.
