I am very sad now. I am not an active MTG Arena player but once in a while I enjoy heading back in and having a roll. I did not draft a lot but when I did, your videos were invaluable to me and I had a great time. I hope you have a great life outside of MTG Arena and also hope that you will continue to be at least a bit active on reddit, as your post and comments there were really useful as well.

@andreyo1518 I appreciate the request, but as I explained in this video, I lost the motivation to record my drafts when the view counts dropped to just a few per video. It takes quite a bit of time to record a draft and set up the video on YT. It's discouraging to use up that time when only a couple of people watch the entire draft and all the matches.

Can you please upload a video of you completing the Foundations set? Because it seems like such an impossible hill to climb?
@Padishar72 ай бұрын
@narkfly I probably won't be making any one-off videos either. Completing foundations requires mostly just using wildcards because you can't get all the cards from drafts/prize packs.

@@Padishar7 I was thinking - looking at the set mastery on profile that there were a bunch missing. Thank you for letting me know I'm not crazy!
@Padishar72 ай бұрын
@narkfly The completion screen under the profile view in Arena cares only about the pack-openable cards, so the orange glow for Foundations will be as doable as for other sets. I.e., full completion doesn't require crafting the starter collection and other cards that won't open from FDN packs.

Big respect for all these uploads over the years. That is a ton of work and I truly appreciate your content, especially the drafting guide you made has been a staple for me. I'm sad it isnt worth for you anymore but it is completely understandable. While I sadly was never good enough to amass a big amount of gems and self sustain, I learned a lot from you. Personally I lost interest in mtga when they bumped the prices of gems and so I became a casual f2p player so I wasn't watching your latests drafts because of that. Too much time investment for just a few drafts here and there. Unfortunately, it is true that long format educational videos aren't the most popular even though they're my favorite. @macaudio Greetings, Zdenek! I was fully on board with continuing to make these videos as part of my Magic Arena playing, but the channel didn't seem to catch a wider audience. After almost 4 years of doing this, there is not much motivation for me to keep posting drafts when most of them get less than 100 views and less than 20 viewers watching them until the end of match 3. There are plenty of successful drafters posting YT content and streaming, so my channel going inactive shouldn't matter in the big picture. I am sure you'll find a new favorite, good luck! 👍

Your videos have been so fun and educational to watch! I don't blame you at all, but i selfishly wish it worked out differently. While it certainly could be the fault of KZbin algorithm, I wonder if it could also be affected by WotC emphasizing BO1 play on Arena. I feel like that has affected my enjoyment of Arena and most content is therefore BO3 also. Wishing you the best and thanks again!
@Padishar75 ай бұрын
@timloesch8341 Thank you, Tim. I certainly remember you as someone who engaged a lot in the comments sections in the videos. That was very nice. During these past months, when the idea of ending this project started brewing in my mind, I thought about ways to get turn the viewership trend up. I did some of those top 10 videos during the spring, for example, because they were easy and not so time-consuming, and the topic was interesting to me. When that didn't work, I seriously considered doing BO1 videos again because they can get more views. The problem is, I have been draining gems lately, and I have always drained them even faster in BO1, so I didn't want to go there because the channel doesn't bring in money to purchase more gems in case I run out of them. I also thought about constructed content. I have all the cards on Magic Arena, after all. It wouldn't necessarily please the existing audience, but some could watch both drafts and constructed, and then others would opt for either of them while the constructed videos could give more visibility on the platform. I even had an ambitious project idea of themed weeks, like "Boros week," when I play RW decks in, e.g., Standard, Historic, and Timeless. Repeating that for other color pairs, triplets, monocolor decks, and so on, and I'd have months of content ideas. All while still making draft videos, of course. However, that would have taken a significant amount of time to brew the decks and produce the videos. I didn't want to start the project and them abandon it midway. In the end, I thought if I continued as is, what am I achieving. Three years from now, I post a weekly draft video with 50-100 views? It just seems... almost pathetic. So, unfortunately, with all these considerations, I decided to pull the plug from making steady content. On the other hand, I've been enjoying BLB despite some of its flaws. With 20+ drafts in, I have almost 40% trophy rate, and many of them are with UR decks of all things. It's a bit shame I didn't get to show them, but I'll get used to it. Thanks again, Tim, for your active participation, and take care!

As for quitting the content making, I have felt a bit unenthusiastic about recording my drafts for about 6 months already. I just didn't want to call it quits right away. I wanted to see if there was just some short-term decrease of views, and when that didn't seem to be the case, I went to posting only one video per week. That didn't help with the views-per-video stat either. In the end, I thought that if that's how it's going to go (no increase in views to be expected), it unfortunately just doesn't feel worth the time and effort to continue with the recordings. I did a few attempts with gems after that, but I ended up losing around 10-15k gems with no day 2 ticket. I could record some AO runs in the future, but to be honest, I am thinking about retiring the channel. The view counts have dropped for good compared to what I used to have, it seems. While I have a few people watching almost the entire duration of the videos, it seems I'm mostly talking to a void, making the recording sessions feel a bit pointless. This deck, by the way, features a "cheat," as the 3/3 commander mythic should cost 1URW instead of just URW. The video was recorded somewhat close to the set's release, and the card still had the wrong cost. I didn't even know the cost was too cheap until I saw the patch notes when it got fixed.

If I was your opponent after that crazy action stack in round 1 game 1, I’d be questioning my life haha.
