If size proportions isn't a factor, which is a better panel? This panel you have, or the squarer "New Version" HQST 100w panel with only 5BB? They're both the same price for 4 panels at $239 (no kit). Which would you get? Thanks.

@@rgraz4929 If I had to do it all over again probably a 200 watt panels. But to answer your question the kit comes with the MPPT, But you also have to get all the fuses and stuff so that adds to your cost. With this current kit that I have I can add two more panels for a total of 600 Watts.

@@soulstudioshamradio OK. Thank you! I think the largest HQST panel is 190w. Is that what you mean? Or do they actually have a 200w panel or are you referring to any brand of 200w panel? Thx.

I bought the 600w kit. Same controller. Been active for a year and a half now. I actually like the unit. Even though it maxes out at 40a about 575w. I also run my panels in series/parallel. In the cooler weather and good sunshine it maxes out. I do run a small dc fan over the controllers heat sink to help keep it cool in the summer. Buti enjoy the unit and plan on getting a second unit so i can connect them together through the port. The guy from Hobo tech did a review of the unit and explained the port and functions.

Did you want a step by step? Had to revert my firmware back to stock figure that'll be an important thing to know how to do. Suppose I could have had everything downloaded before hand but wanted to show what problem's someone might have doing it themselves. Anyways thanks for watching and for your comment. 73s

It's possible that you were getting a lower solar input because you were blocking all four corners of the panel with the styrofoam bumpers still on it. Panels actually tend to work better in the fall and winter - at least when the sun is out - because the cool/cold is working to keep them cooler than in the middle of the warmer seasons. Hopefully with more time to get everything put together and some more testing/figuring out, things are going better with this set up. I have different HQST panels and they've been great for me over the last few years. When angled properly and on a perfectly sunny day I can routinely get 100% or more from their rated output.

I figure... I don't need a ham license. To talk on ham frequencies. No. Now I've got the right license. It's called a Lifetime, FCC 1st Class Radiotelephone License. It's the best and hardest one to get. You can't get any better than that from the FCC. So why should I need an, Amateur License. When I have the Professional, Top Shelf License? Yeah no. I don't need a ham license. And if anybody's interested? I can give them my late brother's, ham license call. I inherited everything upon his death last year at, 64. I'm 69. So I inherited his ham license and his, on air persona. So I got the top, only license to get. As now. We no longer need, Morse Code. Which I just could not stand. It drove me crazy. Stupid beeps. And the guessing game of what, each word was. And finally that is gone. I really hated code. We've had microphones, since the 1930s. And we knew how to Amplitude Modulate some vacuum tubes. But you can't talk and listen can do the code. What cockamamie nonsense that was. I'm glad that's finally gone. Now we have GMR ass walkie-talkies. At 450 MHz. Good luck with that. Great for short hop, private communications. Yeah yeah 13 miles. Under ideal conditions. No more loud guys coming through on skip. At 27 MHz, amplitude modulated. That I don't miss. But there are nobody on these things. Except heard on repeaters who never respond. And they want to begin a GMR ass, CB license. They can cram it up their ass. I never bothered with this stupid CB license either. To play with walkie-talkies. Give me a break. Or to talk to truckers on channel 19. To find out where all the Smokies are. And now what do we have? A whole lot of short distance nothing. 450 MHz. UHF. Garbage line of sight. And they want you to send the money. For a certificate to talk. Screw that. Take them off the market if you don't want, people talking on them. They are a toy. Both for children and adults. So, Jethro... how's your SWR? How many watts are you pumping out? Are you using your, directional or vertical antenna? What exciting conversation. I don't have anything to say to any of those guys. What do you say to a bunch of, miserable old white retired MAGA supporting bigots on the shortwave radio? What should you say? That Donnie is a SHIT, to the women? And why are they concerned about somebody else's, embryo? You need a another tax break and have how many millions in the bank, banks, property, businesses? Why do they need more tax breaks? They are already super wealthy. What seems to be the problem? With paying your yearly dues. To live in the USA Club. You don't like the dues? Then leave. Do not waste your money anymore. The USA is crumbling. It's collapsing. It's better that you should leave. And we will have to stay behind in this gutter. In this ditch called the USA. That will hardly be livable. This time he doesn't get reelected to Rule over us with his Dictatorial Power! Sure just what we need. Another Hitler. I really hope he has a massive, heart attack or stroke. A stroke would be much funnier. He will only be able to talk with his hands. That will be a riot! I can hardly wait. He, will start texting and never stop. And he will only be able to use his right hand. His left hand will just hang there. And thank God he won't be able to talk. This is what Donnie really needs. A massive stroke. Not from a golf club. Or maybe? Right into his cranium. And he will end up a little like Paul Pelosi. For some months to come. And end up drooling on himself. That's what I wish for Donnie. That's what I will be praying for. For Donnie. That he has an, incapacitating stroke. He, can then Rule. From his hospital bed. And pointing at the colored jelly beans he wants for lunch. With a Kentucky Fried Chicken, dessert. We cannot get stuck with this joker again. He needs to be blown out the door. He needs to be relieved. His prostate is swelling. RemyRAD

First class radiotelegraph license is only good for 5 years..ham licenses are good for 10. I read your comment, and all through I don't agree with everything, you had some good points, but everything has it's usages GMRS with a repeater inline can and does go further, Georgia has a huge GMRS network.
