I love this recipe! I make a 3/4" deep knife slice every 1 1/2" or so in every direction against the grain of the meat and insert a clove in each slice, about 25 or 30 cloves per chink of meat. You don't really taste clove, I have had people rave about the flavor not knowing what it really is, it just blends the corned beef flavor into something~~~more.

Don't know how I lived without this for so long! I make dog food for 2 of our dogs kzbin.infoUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg (we have 5!) and it is so much quicker in this. Love having the inner pot stainless so I can use my immersion blender right in it without worrying about scratching. It makes potatoes great and fast! Still working on the vegetables, first time came out great, second time I did different ones and they were a little too mushy. Just need to adjust the time. I highly recommend this pot!!!

Let me be transparent. I tried this recipe because I got lazy. My initial plan was to throw my corned beef in the smoker. But today, I used the IP instead. I didn’t expect much. But, MAN!! This darned corned beef is soooo good that I wanna run out and stock up on more to cook later. You short, to-the-point video is a GAME-CHANGER!! Simply amazing! Thank you so much!!!

pretty sure you could do 20 minutes with 2 pounds instead of 35 minutes, just check with a meat thermometer that you hit 145f in the centre

Curious, why use a serrated knife? It's so tender the serrated knife tends to shred it.

Use this recipe for 2.5 lb 'pork sirloin tip (was $1.99/lb) and cooked for 25 mins. My device is PowerPotXL, but I don't think it makes much difference. Pork was 140 degrees in some spots and 160 degrees in others after cooking 25 min plus 5 min rest. Also I used 2 cups broth but that seemed too much liquid so I couldn't get it to thicken fas enough, so I think 1 cup is enough. Also I used 1 large onion and it virtually disappears, so it becomes part of the broth. The meat was certainly soft and cooked but you did need a knife to cut it.

Thanks!! I used deer burger, 1 quart of home canned, home grown tomatoes plus frozen mixed vegetables I dehydrated a year ago. Plus I added my home grown dehydrated bell peppers and dehydrated store bought celery. So good!! Then I spooned on a little smoked paprika I bought from a vendor at the Kansas City River Market . Exceptional homey goodness. Solid nutrition.

Thank you so much for your video! It easily told me how to make this brisket last minute for St. Patrick’s Day for my fiancé. His best friend passed away from brain cancer a few years ago and they would always celebrate together and eat brisket. I know it’s definitely a heavy subject matter but I know this will mean a lot to him so thank you 🤍

@easyinstantpotfun82872 жыл бұрын
Sarah - you definitely want to cook the carrots and potatoes separately. Those should only take 2 or 3 minutes depending on the size.

Why is everyone using beer? Doesn't anyone cook without hops? Sadly, I am allergic to hops (instant migraine), so beer, any infusion containing hops, or just smelling the flower induces an allergic reaction. Ugh!

I confess my ignorance on this subject. If there is no corn included then why is it called 'corned' beef?
@LuminaryGames3 жыл бұрын
Corn didn't used to refer to the maize that you eat nowadays. It was a Germanic word that ment seed, or grain. Corned beef or salt beef was called that because the large-grained rock salt they used, which was also called "corns of salt" back then.

Okay, I have a question: Based on several different Pork Loin Instant Pot videos I have watched using the same size Pork Loin I am getting a range of 10 minutes to 35 minutes for cook time. So far all of them look great but I am confused....Which time is the best time to use? All of the videos sauté prior to cooking so that is the same. Some will add vegetables and onions but use less time and it still comes out looking fantastic. Since I am new to Instant Pot, just received a week and two days ago, I am new to learning the right techniques and cook times. So what times do all of you use?
@jonrobbins_drummer3 жыл бұрын
That is a GREAT question, Nancy! I planned on experimenting a little more with time on the port loins and pork tenderloins...two very different cuts of meat. I think with the time that I used on this one.... I actually could have shredded this for pork tacos, maybe? I think for starters I would try about 20 minutes for this size and check with an instant read thermometer and make sure you reach 145 to 150. I know I probably didn't give the exact time(s) you are looking for but I do believe this will take a little experimentation. Hope it was of some help....
