Till Day it Hurts that I couldn't see it in theatres In Japanese Film Festival 2020 when I was of 16-17 Years old Me , My Brother, My Friend were there at PVR ICON Infinity Mall in Andheri West All of Us were Heartbroken to hear that the Screening is for 18+ only even though they were Showing the Censored Version Till Date (2024) I haven't watched "Kimi no na wa" / Your Name in theatres But I watched Weathering with You in Theatres at release but Damn PVR's Usual Audience isn't very responsive and lively But I enjoyed it very much with my friend with me in 2020 for Film Festival The Next time I watched Suzume no Tojimari (Director's Visit) Damn the Audience was Fired up and Responsive and I got to See Master. Makoto Shinkai himself live It craves me to watch Shinkai Movies in theatre even more... This Year (2024) I finally Watched Movies of Japanese Film Festival I watched "Akira" for the First time It was a Breathtaking Experience, Seeing a Complex and Well Written movie like UI (2023) from Japan of 36 Years ago was Super Shocking and Surprising. Next I watched "Mom, is that You" it was again a Great Experience seeing a Coming of Age story with a traditional Ending not going woke was so much of a relief. Hope to See More of Great Anime and Commercial Japanese Films in India and their Directors and Writers coming here ❤

For those who didn't catch this in theaters, you don't understand how much more grand the scope and emotion feels on a huge screen with a huge audience cheering on what at it's core, is a simple slice of life. It's absolutely surreal.

@@lettuce1626 It can be both simultaneously. You find out a lot about Taki and Mitsuha's day to day life in midst of their romance. 🤷♂

Just watched it yesterday. I thought the ending was a bit cliche because of the trope "two lovers undergo a traumatic incident and then forget each other for a period of time until they reunite by coincidence and start anew", but hey it all works out in the end. I very much enjoyed watching this, and I do regret not sitting down and watching it in one sitting. Will definitely rewatch it at some point!
