higher bit depth good for sound manipulation. Just like video files 10 bit 12 but etc are very good for color grading. 8 but video files creates banding.

I recently downloaded Click Repair. The owner of the program has automized the program completely. Just place the song in the program, tell it where to save it. And hit start. It does a pretty good job cleaning the pops and clicks. Once, it stops with a bell. It will save it where you indicated it, with a cr suffix.

I know this is 4 years old , and thanks for doing this. I will point out you rambled on for 24 minutes and I did not hear a single comparison of RAW vs Click vs Wave. You can see how that is a pretty obvious oversight, while sure your opinion is fine, some people like to hear it through their own ears.

Yes, doesn't seem to make any difference audibly... But I've found where it does make a difference is if you wanna do processes like time-stretching the files...

it´s not stupid hobby but the only way to have high quality sound at home, stupid is that guy making a remark as if all others are stupid and be happy with a compact system with cd player

This whole experiment is extremely flawed. If the CD was 16 bit, then upconverting to 24 bit should not add any details that weren't there in the 16 bit copy. you can't create that information from thin air, it has to be present in the source you are starting with. Also, you are guaranteed not the hear 24 bit audio from this because this YT video is encoded in opus (251), which is 16 bit.

I could hear a difference. I noticed that 2 was a little bit "warmer" and the bass was deeper. That was the one that was 16-Bit. 16-Bit just sounds beefier, and fuller than 24-Bit in my opinion.

Suprised to read that nobody is talking about the lack of "air" with Grados. If you want to "hear the music" then you will love them, and also if you want a sort of "valve amp, jukebox" sound. But if you want sparkle and excitment at the top end then I wouldn't recommend. To their credit they have 3d depth (ie some instruments are nearer to you than others) rather than just width, and I do hear things I never heard before, so that has to be a good thing, even if the sound is hard to get excited about.

Nobody is hearing that noise above 20k. The audio setup required to experience the dynamic range of 24bit would be crazy, and then environmental factors like the room or nature would muddy the sound, make the setup obsolete, and thus hearing and enjoying any difference would be moot. Record 24 bit, render and playback 16 bit.

I have a Grado Green mounted onto my Micro Seiki BL-51, and I've been enjoying listening to it for several years now. My other turntable is a Pioneer PL-530 fitted with a Denon DL-110, and since both are running through my Pioneer SX-1010 receiver it's easy to do A/B comparisons, and honestly, to my ears there is no discernible difference between the two. Lately I have considered keeping the Green cartridge and upgrading to a "Gold3" stylus, so I emailed the Grado company to ask about this, and John Grado said the Gold3 will fit, that "the musicality will be the same", but I would hear an improvement "in terms of resolution and dynamics". He also said (and I really like this) "if the Green still works, keep using it"! How's that for the "hard sell"? This is one reason I really like the Grado company. They make great products and they seem like really good people.

If you hear the difference between 16 and 24 bit, it’s just your brain telling you what you want to believe. In reality, by Nyquist Theory you can’t hear the difference. Maybe with sone mega modified ears you could…

one of the best things you can take away from this is that if you are a musician, you can spend forever worrying about stuff like this, a difference that makes no difference, or you can get to work on making music.
