Well, he contested more balls in that final than the whole Leinster pack. He’s a 9. He carried the game more than anyone in the tournament. His stats are just insane and he’s doing what no one would expect from a 9. Not sure what the criteria are for you to be the goat, but I can’t see lot of players that transformed what is expected from its position.

@@MU-TH-UR His career isn’t over, but from what he’s doing now in 7 and 15, it’s likely it won’t be disputable at the end of his career if he goes on this path. I expected him to be good at 7, but have you seen him? The most amazing part is that he doesn’t have the physiognomy for this sport, yet he performs so well he ends up in the main squad.. WC is a collective award, idk why so many people bring it up, he might win one day but no players can win this on own. To be fair, I think he is redefining what a 9 can do (not very shiny role) and this in itself put him apart from any player I’ve known. It’s likely that after him the 9 shirt will be regarded differently and expectations on 9 will change.

@@christh7434 yeah i agree in regards to WC. But there are many factors that may be considered to be a GOAT, pedigree being one of them. Or not, depends on people i guess. He 's only wht 27? @@ZeAldhyr GOAT = Greatest of ALL TIME , not 'Been playing the best rugby for 4-5 years' It's weird to suggest a guy who is only halfway through his career is already better than all of the guys who've had 15+ year playing careers. What will happen when he gets injured? or when his team's form dips? these are questions to define his entire legacy. Right now, we're judging based on years of epic form he's had, but based on that you could say Kolbe, Beauden Barrett, Fourie Du Preez, Ben Smith etc were also the GOATs - because they also had 4-5 year periods were they were untouchable and barely made a mistake.

I pay respect to victors upon all. Now, let my french roots speak : dupont is not only a great rugby player, a try scorer, a stratege on board. He is a beast in defence, physicly and mentaly. Not only he leads his team, not only he do offloads, not only he is the one creating space and occasions for his team, but he also be one of when not the best defender in his team.
