My old coach was clear about this - you get sent off you never play for this team ever again. I would include that in the laws of rugby.

This nonsense of giving a red card when a high jumping player's feet is taken out underneath him achieves absolutely nothing. Red cards are supposed to make the game safe and prevent serious injuries- well if a player falls on his neck and is paralyzed, or worse even dies, what the f... is achieved by sending the offending player off with a red card?! Just make it a rule/law that no player may jump high into the air to catch a Garryowen kick.
