100% this is piston slap. Cylinders and pistons and possibly wrist pins have worn out.

I know this is an old video but my 2003 Chevy trailblazer has the same symptoms and I'm not sure if anybody else who has had this problem has also experienced this particular behavior. When I get on the highway if I leave it in drive and floor it it will occasionally shift into third and overdrive and they grabbed hard like they should and it stays in overdrive as long as I'm at highway speed indicating that there is no problem whatsoever with the third and fourth gear clutch packs it's something not allowing it to shift from second to third under normal driving conditions

I've got a question! I just bought a last year 1 ton Squarebody 1991 and after finally getting it to run by changing fuel pumps in both tanks now the transmission is giving out when I put it in park!! Just heard the part about the brake light issue and maybe that could be the issue?! My cable broke weeks ago and the pedal would drop and light would come on but go back off after I lifted the pedal. Now the light stays on!

Mine is doing the same thing . Driving back from Arizona to Colorado lost over drive in Albuquerque New Mexico thought my transmission went out, but we made it all the way back to Colorado, Nebraska border and now new Heads and other parts installed having transmission issues

Piston rings as it warms the aluminum piston expands and it goes away if lifter or rod it stays but it dont sound like just pistons

If it does not have a miss with it at idle, then it’s just a wristpin noise that those engines make when they are cold but if it has a miss at idle on one or more cylinders, it won’t be a dead miss It will just be a slight miss, then it’s probably the Cam and the lifters and eventually you will need to put a cam and lifter set in it.

3-4 clutch packs or the sunshell is always the problem with the 4l60

I also wanted to add that I did not unbolt my knuckles from the strut, you can remove the spindle bolts by pushing the axle inwards or you can simply leave the bolts in after they have been unscrewed from the spindles.

Had this happen on a 500SL 1990 and was told by GSF theres no hard pedal for a ASR light for that year. BULLSHIT i had it. 3 month earlyer they sold me a set of spark plugs that had a R on it. These were resister plugs that were wrong for my car. Worked for a while then it got harder and harder to start. The car would only go 1/3 of its speed because the battery volts were to low. New set of the right plugs and all was fine. If you car goes into ASR its more likely down to volts or the above.

Weird my 4l60e in my 01 silverado LS 4.8 1500 has 4 gears 1,2,3 and Drive which is 4th gear of I had over drive there would be the letter O over the D. So no there not over drive my took a crap I only can go 30 mph do t have 3rd or 4th gear

I run 12v ignition to TCC lockup. The ECU itself unlocks the converter at a set speed. No need to worry about faulty brake switch.

Well, unfortunately my 94 1500 C Chevy I change those two solenoids in the transmission, and it still doesn’t go into third gear kind of sick of this truck

I have a 00 Camaro SS I can shift from 1st gear to second but when I try to shift to 3rd gear the Rev meter revved upl very high and won't go into 3rd gear do you think it's the same issue ?

Look for exhaust leak at manifolds.

I have the same blower had the same issues except the vibration broke the muffler studs and wrecked the head. I bought my blower from Massimo and when I took it in for repair found that Massimo dose not sell engine parts. and the shaft size is mm and all 13 hp motors sold in US are in. shafts so it is unrepairable and is 2 years old and only ran two tanks of gas through it. Paid $3000 for abought 8 hrs. and now I can scrap it.
