How do I remove the shock retaining pins from my MBX8TR ECO truggy. With the shocks on (shocks mounted on truggy already) I try to pull the pin out with my fingers and even tried a butter knife and still can't remove the pin

Yes, the 7k diffs were definitely a bit off before rebuilding them , the gears and shims broke in making the fluid “metallic” and also o-rings swelling will also do it.

Yeah buddy, my original Sanwa battery failed so I bought this Protek 5500 pack. But, I became frustrated with it for the very reason you talked about. It would never finish charging, or it would say it’s was 4.20v but as soon as I stopped the charge it would drop in voltage. 😡 I shelved it and went back to the Sanwa Lipo.

Thanks for sharing. Good to know information. I’m a bit confused on the reason to use this and what the benefits are? Is it to aid in repeatability when building diffs?
@noprorc9365
@noprorc9365 Жыл бұрын
Yea I think it would aid in consistency once you learn the resistance average of your diffs and what cst you’re running.. so like if your 5k is normally 370 or so and the number is far off +\- you know there is an issue. But I think the biggest advantage will be 10th scale with ball diffs!!.. being able to track performance and what setting you like so it can be replicated after rebuilds will be great!! Thanks D70 !!!

Ive noticed after racing dirt gets it the gearbox by the outdrives, is there anyway of sealing up the gap.. like a type of sponge or thick grease? To keep the diff bearings running smooth for longer...
@noprorc9365
@noprorc9365 Жыл бұрын
Actually there shouldn’t be any gaps where the outdrive is exiting the gear box .. if you notice a build up of dirt on the bearings face (facing outward) it’s do to excessive grease or oil .. just try to keep that area clean so dirt doesn’t stick. If there is dirt getting into the gear box itself, a bead of black grease between the chassis and the actual gearbox will help.

Hey D70!!… it’s more so for high speed low grip conditions where you are forced to run a softer compound to get grip but need to reduce the “ballooning or walky” feeling of the softer tires. I really haven’t used it much for buggy , but with the giant tires on Truggy it adds a bit of stability when having to run soft tires 👍🏽👍🏽

Can you do this with the Mugen truggy? The parts list don't show the option for an underdrive gear, like it does with the buggy. I don't know if this is like with automotive ring and pinions in which I can't just mate a truggy's 10t pinion with a buggy 44t conical gear to create an underdriven rear.

Thanks for the tips! 🏎🏎 Just curious if you find aftermarket bodies or the stock precut Mugen body to be more durable. Finally, how do you cut such a perfect circle in the tape for the body mount hole? It'd be nice to have something like a tire punch, but bigger.

Hey Ron, I run the Jcon and the stock Mugen , I have found that both are very durable. As for the hole I use an xacto knife with a new blade, just zip it around on the edge of the lexan and good to go!!

Im assuming you cycle your lipos for stock racing....Have you ever noticed the difference between just charging at a high amp alone vs high amp charge/discharge cycling? In other words, does simply high amp charging have a positive effect?
@noprorc9365
@noprorc9365 Жыл бұрын
Nerun , sorry it took so long to reply!!…. I would say that simply charging at a high amp rate would make a small bit of a difference, but starting with a pack that has been discharged would be much more impactful and give you that punchy feel much longer in the run and reduce IR by a lot more.
