Happy Father's Day! My father and I used to share a toonie tuesday meal during lunchtime when I was in elementary school. I made a video on my channel dedicating our time together to him. I took it for granted, but when I started this channel, I realized how special that time was.

Today as a father, I am mostly disappointed in my self. I basically was a terrible father addicted and self loathing. I’ve recovered from that space, and yet, have not recovered from the loss of relationships to my sons.

Phuck father's day......don't even acknowledge it. I have 4 kids and they cannot even be bothered to pick up the phone. The main complaint was I was never there for them..........I was working 60-70 hours a week to pay for everything including all their university degrees. They don't understand the real world of parenting. When my wife passed, I didn't realize how alone I really was. They sent flowers to the funeral. Nice eh?

#TELLTHEMNOW! In this- a MAJORITY of the time our assumptions are fueled by an unfounded fear that makes things seem 10000× what they ARE in or would be in reality...or...sometimes planted by a small seeds of founded fear due to the unfamiliarity of expressing what we feel..Those seeds turning into unrealistic worry in how you'll be looked at and so on.. Either way. I wasn't raised to tell my loved ones that I am proud of them..or that I love them.. I wanted to so much, I didnt want to ever regret saying what I feel so much in my heart Until one day, I stood at the door..hesitant..I asked myself "WHAT am I afraid of?" "WHAT is the worst that could happen?" "Is what I feel level to what the actual circumstances are here?" I thought about it and answered my own questions. They'll laugh- So WHAT They'll give that awkward stare- SO WHAT They'll say nothing back- SO WHAT?! YES. Im aware its very simple. But sometimes we have to check our emotions. If we allow them to run wild we'll continue to hold these fears that are exacerbated by mere unfamiliarity. It brings us down to reality real quick. I said it. I finally said screw it and I blurted out "I love you!!" Yes, they gave me that awkward "Ew what? Gross" look..yep a few laughed as if I was from this alien planet. That all lasted for what? 20 seconds? And it was over. I felt so good letting them know I LOVE THEM NOW. I couldn't believe the freedom of release I felt vs the fear and restraint only seconds before. Let it out. Tell them now. Don't live with regrets. You'll feel so much better saying it. Its worth that 1.5 seconds to tell them now rather a lifetime of regret that you didn't spend that 1.5 seconds at all.

Just texed my Dad to tell him that no one ever gives him the credit he deserves and to thank him for the good hes done and without judging his wrongs. To let him know I appreciate the lessons in life and the time spent together. I wanted to give my dad the flowers and respect he deserves. After reading his response I'm happy I was the one to do it out of all my siblings!

I wish i had gotten to experience this love for my mother....i may have gotten the raw end of the deal as a kid but i guess god has me go through that so becoming a mother would help me transform into the person my kids deserve. And i agree with the forgiveness. I wish my mom was still alive so i could show her the love she always deserved she jist needed someone to give her that support and love. She just needed someone to say you have value and i love you no matter what.

"Sonnets are full of love" by Christina Rossetti Sonnets are full of love, and this my tome Has many sonnets: so here now shall be One sonnet more, a love sonnet, from me To her whose heart is my heart’s quiet home, To my first Love, my Mother, on whose knee I learnt love-lore that is not troublesome; Whose service is my special dignity, And she my loadstar while I go and come And so because you love me, and because I love you, Mother, I have woven a wreath Of rhymes wherewith to crown your honored name: In you not fourscore years can dim the flame Of love, whose blessed glow transcends the laws Of time and change and mortal life and death.

I don't see the importance of fatherhood. I always wondered what's the importance of fathers in a child's life. I can see why mothers are important. Women are socially and biologically programmed to be parents much more strongly than men are. Mothers are the ones that produce milk to feed to their babies. Also, mothers are the ones that are usually in charge of their babies, and they assume that role early on. Also, women have "maternal instinct", while men don't have anything like that. And also, children usually spend a lot more time with their mothers than they do with their fathers, and during that time, the mothers are usually taking care of the children. Also, most animals in this world are only taken care by their mothers and they don't have their fathers around at all. So why are human fathers important? It seems that a child can grow up without a father, and still turn out ok.

Your comment is flawed, because it's usually only in mammals that females are the primary caregivers of their offspring. In birds both male and female invest equally in parenting. In the majority of fish species males are the ones that do all the parenting. There's is variation in the animal kingdom when it comes to investment in parental care.

Also only women have parental instincts while men don't.

Farther are equally as important is mothers as they set rules and guidelines of which to follow, they teach manners and respect, and most importantly provide a sense of security. Children that have no father’s have been repeatedly shown to have a higher chance of having many behavioral issues, father’s also typically the role a kids look up to, and the relationship that the parents have can vastly change the future of the child future relationships with others.

@@jonasg.bisgaard1086 Many people are raised by single moms, and they turn out perfectly ok. The bond between mothers and children are a lot stronger than the bond between fathers and children are. I heard that children who are raised by lesbian couples tend to turn out a lot better than children who are raised by heterosexual couples do. I heard that lesbian relationships are healthier because they understand each other. If both partners understand each other, they won’t want to break up with each other. I also heard that women have higher rates of depression when married (in straight relationships). Women have maternal instinct, while men don't have anything like that. Being fatherless doesn't affect children that badly. Men are not wired to be parents since a single man can father over 1000 of children, while a single woman can only mother about 10 children. Men make millions of sperm each day, while women make 1 egg per month. You get more DNA from your mother than your father. Also, your mom not only gave you more DNA (you’ve got her mitochondrial DNA too), but also provided you with every molecule that made up your body until birth. A man only contributes one cell to a baby. All the materials to make a baby are supplied by the woman.

@@smokexsmoke99 …..nothing you said is correct one bit. Please actually read up on it before spreading misinformation. 1, being raised be a single parent can have a number of consequences of the development of a child. The list includes, higher level of stress, anxiety, depression, higher suicide rates, and more likely to abuse substances like alcohol and drugs and a lot more developmental and mental health issues. 2, most in many cases father’s have equally as strong of a bond between them and their children as the mother if not stronger(although it might not generally why, like it is with mothers). 3, there’s no evidence to support the claim that lesbian couples are any better at parenting than a heterosexual couples is, put some say that there might be a higher risk behavioral issues in kids that where raised by a lesbian couple. 4, I have only found statistics that show the rates of depression in married women, but none that compare lesbian and heterosexual couples and the rate of depression with each other, and I don’t know the relevance of it as it hold no bearings on the subject of the topic.
