I am 16. I lost my dad 6 months ago, because of cancer. This video went straight into my heart. I never asked him what makes him proud of me, I couldn't say him how much he meant to me(I went to London and stay there with sister...) and I still regret. It is really sad, when I see teenagers, people in my age who don't have respect to their parents. I just want to tell, that we should appreciate every small thing which they do for us and we should every day tell them, how much we love them and how they are important for us. We don't know the month and the hour, when something might change. Tell Them Now. #TellThemNow

I don't see the importance of fatherhood. I always wondered what's the importance of fathers in a child's life. I can see why mothers are important. Women are socially and biologically programmed to be parents much more strongly than men are. Mothers are the ones that produce milk to feed to their babies. Also, mothers are the ones that are usually in charge of their babies, and they assume that role early on. Also, women have "maternal instinct", while men don't have anything like that. And also, children usually spend a lot more time with their mothers than they do with their fathers, and during that time, the mothers are usually taking care of the children. Also, most animals in this world are only taken care by their mothers and they don't have their fathers around at all. So why are human fathers important? It seems that a child can grow up without a father, and still turn out ok.

My dad died of cancer in '07,my last conversation with him on the phone was hard and he was barely coherent,I had to tell him short of yelling that I loved him and repeated it more for myself than to make sure he heard me.I heard him feebly say with a whisper quiet voice "I love you too",and he died 3 days later. This clip is a punch in the nuts, and still beautiful.

Chris Winter Sometimes life doesn't always give us that option, work, distance, etc. In a perfect world everything in our lives would be 30 feet in any direction from our house :) but it doesn't work like that. My dad was a cold man. He was never one for anything emotional. He was ill in his final years. I made the decision to take care of him. On the day he died he told me he appreciated everything I did for him. I know that was the only way he know how to show love. He passed away 15 hours later suddenly. I wonder to this day if he knew.

My dad never knew if his father was proud of him or that he loved him and he went 15 years before finding out that answer. When my brother and I were born, my dad knew immediately that his father loved him and he has tried to live his life where his old man could be proud of him. My relationship with my Dad is very awkward. He never expressed love to me while I was growing up. He provided material things for me but what I yearned for as a child was his affection and attention. I never got that from him. We have never been close. I needed him so much when I was young but he wasn’t available emotionally. It really wounded me, irreparably I believe. What I learned from my father was how to build walls and never let anyone in. So, I’m 52 and have never let anyone in. Never married or had kids. Have no clue what being loved feels like and oddly, that’s all I ever wanted from my Dad as a kid.
