Hi Ps. Joe, I'm not sure po but I feel like God wants all the churches to be united in prayer. I am presently living in MY, and I have seen that all of the Christian churches here, regardless of denomination, are praying for the nation, new generations, pastors, church leaders, and the nation. There is a deep yearning for revival and the presence of God here. I hope and pray that it will also occur in the Philippines.

Can I not watch any princess movies with my kids either they have magic and etc like Peter Pan and Ariel which is half naked, or talking animals or veggie tales or Toy Story? I’m confused…I’m so confused man and I’m so tired…And so scared I’ll be a bad mom, and my child will grow up not knowing how to have an imagination without being sinful. I’m so confused. And it takes two people and I have a boyfriend, it takes two people to agree to follow something, I wanna do the right thing and I want him to do the right thing and help lead me with Jesus.

Violence. Sex. Fanasy. Magic. Killing. All things god hates yet we wanna be entertained by such things. Name one company in the video game Industry that doesnt push greed or sex or magic and killing ect, one cant be named therefore i rest my case. A christian has no right playing video games because it in no way edifes christ. It never has and it never will
@TiagoGomez-hb9te3 ай бұрын
Well yeah, all mainstream video games and publishers promote these things. You're absolutely right about this. That was why I had to give playing video games myself. Also, you forgot to add that Gnosticism is a thing that's preached in video games...

I first heard this song in highschool. At every season after, God used this song to minister to me. As a college student, as a young professional, as a new wife and mother, now as a business owner. Jesus answers Yes each time. He’s never offended by my questions. And Yes, ptr Joe, it also makes me proud that this genuine, wonderful song is written and sang by Filipinos :)

Hello Pastor Joe. Thank you for this. I'm from Victory Sta Rosa in Nuvali. Always wanted to meet you when you were still preaching here during the pandemic. Anyway I love playing video games with my son and daughter even if they are older now. My son is working for Our Daily Bread and my daughter is about to go into medical school in La Salle Dasmarinas. It's one of the ways we bond other than eating. Thank you for sharing this. God bless and keep you always 🙏

Lahat ng mga digital visual arts/aid that we're enjoying today... from e-bibles, smartphone interface, etc.. i think that very same tech somehow owe it to video games technology/revolution. People look down on it, but I do believe malaki contribution ng egames sa current visual technologies we're enjoying today.

I've been thinking a lot about why many Christians seem to lose their faith over time, and I believe a big part of it is that they often don't have a safe and open space to express their doubts. Doubt is a natural part of any belief system, but in many Christian communities, it's often seen as a weakness or a lack of faith. This can make people feel isolated or even ashamed of their questions. When doubts are suppressed rather than addressed, they can grow and fester, leading to a crisis of faith. If people can't talk about their uncertainties without fear of judgment or rejection, they're more likely to feel disconnected from their faith community and, eventually, from their faith itself. Just my 2 cents. Love the video pastor!

This is so timely, it's easy to believe and trust when everything is going well. But when defeat comes one after another, it's difficult to believe that He's there protecting us. But then Job's story comes to mind.

Reminded me of the story you shared recently: "This is your gentle reminder that one time in the Bible Elijah was like 'God, I'm so mad! I want to die!' so God said 'Here’s some food. Why don’t you have a nap?' So Elijah slept, ate, & decided things weren’t so bad. Never underestimate the spiritual power of a nap & a snack."

thanks Joe, for sharing your thoughts on this song. did you ever get to watch the musical where this song was part of? it's called First Name. obviously, it's all about names, the greatest of which is Jesus. =) TRUMPETS did a sort of tribute to Freddie when they took different singers and reimagined and reinterpreted all the songs from that musical. Morissette's version was part of that. it was entitled First Name Anew. i think Freddie was still alive when this was being planned but sadly didn't get to see it anymore.

I think there is so much emphasis placed on sexual sin, number one, because Paul emphasizes sexual sin above all others. 1 Cor 6:18 "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." Sexual sin is unlike others because it springs from our biology from creation. "Be fruitful and multiply" was before the fall. It's a daily battle. Generally, we don't DESIRE to be selfish, or to be angry, or to be deceitful, or to be thieves. People desire sex and intimacy like they desire food. It's a daily, constant, never ending, biological pressure, whereas, people don't generally yearn on a daily basis to cheat on their taxes. So, yes, Jesus is concerned about much more than our sexual purity, but this is the area that requires the most support, the most discipline, and the most vigilance. This drive is so powerful, Paul encourages marriage, if for not other reason, to deal with sexual desire. He is VERY MUCH FOCUSED ON THE BEHAVIOR AND NOT THE HEART. His prescription is a lawful outlet for normal sexual energy, not a quenching of sexual energy. I don't think sexual desire is a heart problem. It's a biology problem. These following passages are very practical prescriptions for believers that don't imply a lack of faith or relationship with Christ. 1 Corin 7:2 "Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband." 1 Corin 7:8 "But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they remain even as I am; 9 but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion." I don't say any of these things to support "legalism", but I think there is a lot of nuance to this topic.

Agree with the heart angle, but let's not be naive and think people don't know exactly what they are projecting by the way they dress. There is surely gray areas, but expressing messages through our clothing has been at the core of human existence since the creation. Adam and Eve were ashamed of their nakedness and God made them clothes. Joseph's coat of many colors, John the baptist's camel hair cloak. People know what they're doing.
