Very nice and I particularly like the roof design. I don’t think the perch and front ledge should be there as predators could use them.

I you have a wee bit of a accent, kind of like the pipers and the band I played in when I was younger. You say it's a big house but no clean out or hole for the birds to get in. I try and stay a way from plywood as it does not weather well. Cheerrs
@harrykatt20704 жыл бұрын
I used marine ply and sealed it. I am from Northern Ireland that's the accent you hear. I built that about 3 years ago and it is still like new. It's been through snow and ice rain and hail hot and cold. But like anything that is kept outside it must be protected by a coat of either wax or stain once every 2 years.

@@harrykatt2070 I was in Ireland the 1st of Sept for a week. Went to Fern, Wexford Ct researching my Name and then went to Port Stewart in the north were my Grandmothers family came from. Had a wonderful visit with the relatives. Great time and wonderful people.

Lovely work you do. I remember many years ago watching my uncle Shane in his workshop. One of the things he taught me (tricks of the trade) before pre-drilling was to countersink first and then drill your pilot hole. He taught me that the countersink has a tip and it needs to bite into the wood to keep it true. It really does make a noticeable difference creating really neat and tidy sinks for the screw-head to nestle into. Give it a try next time. Keep up the great work mate.

@cliffcarlo1805 жыл бұрын
I'm sure he said 11 degrees for the roof battens and 35mm for the entrance hole. But I can only repeat what he said.

It's up to each individual person what angle to use. If I remember the floor was a third of the height which gave me the angle.
