"I could put strychnine in the guacamole" is one of the low-key funniest lines in the entire film.

Most people don’t realize Milton is a character in a short animation Mike Judge did. The stapler is the staple.

No one realizes that Milton's red Swingline Stapler was the trigger, the point of Origin, of the Fire. If you remember, he went into Lumbergh's Office specifically to retrieve his Stapler... 😂

I love The Glenn Miller Story and I could watch it and It’s a Wonderful Life on endless loop. Jimmy Stewart is a national treasure. I disagree with those that say a lesson in gratitude. I see a lesson in never giving up. George is suicidal and is shown how much of a difference he made in the lives of everyone in town, he’s given a chance to see the hole he would have left in the world if he’d never been there. This movie reminds us all that love connects us to our fellow man. Each of us matters to everyone else. Your life matters. You would leave a hole in the world that only you can fill. Don’t give up hope.

I was reading an article that NBC bought the full rights to the movie it's a wonderful Life because of copyright fails because they forgot to renew contract and the copyright to to the original owner of the movie so in 1994 the movie was broadcast on different television networks without giving the right owners the royalty to the movie every time a television network would Air the movie on their TV station because the owner of the movie it's a wonderful Life never get paid every time the movie aired because of copyright failures

Seeing what the people in the town did for George because George has such a special impact on their lives and listening to the words to the song auld Lang syne it touches your heart because the song has a special meaning to it if you understand what the words mean

This film has had ( and continues to have ) an amazing impact on humanity. As evidenced in this compilation video. One of the things about the story is that it is not all cut-and-dry, sweet-as-molasses, perfection. It hits home how despondent George is over the finances ( untold men, especially, can relate with that as husbands and fathers ), or the horrifically dark segment where he runs to the cemetery, the camera close-up to his terrorized look, and what has given me profound pause over the years is a main ingredient of the narrative being that a man did NOT get to, in effect, LIVE HIS DREAMS. Now, how many can relate with that, in terms of trying to leave town, pursue a lifelong dream, but "life" ( something bigger...Divine Sovereignty ) gets in his way. In a country like America, the Land of Dreams, for native born and immigrant alike, this is a fascinating case study and perspective on dreams. EX: If one holds too tightly to their dreams, they might actually be missing out on calmer, deeply satisfying blessings while working "cooped up in a shabby little office". It ain't all so cut-and-cry after all, which is partly why "It's a Wonderful Life" stands the test of time, IMHO. It is so relatable in the human experience.

I have a book about the making of this movie, actually two copies. It covers all the ins and outs of everything. At the end, the author states George still should have been arrested. Just because you return the money doesn't forgive the crime. And yes, I've seen the movie several times a year since 1989. Probably between 50-100 times,not counting partial viewings when someone else was watching it.

When Jimmy Stewart returned from WW2 he thought he'd tanked his movie career by being off screen for four years and when he opened the first script the studio sent him after the Air Force he thought the studio had reached the same conclusion. Still; he needed a job and he made the movie anyway. It bombed. But television put it in front of generation after generation of kids, parents and grandparents; and thank God for it.

To think that the movie did not do well when first released because people didn't want to be reminded of the Great Depression and the war that had just ended a couple of years before.

Technically, if you are charged with embezzlement from a bank, you can't just "repay" the money they think you stole and then the charges go away. I think George and Uncle Billy would be fine in court if they just admitted Uncle Billy lost the money. Billy is a guy who "forgot" to go to George's wedding and that was when he was relatively young and virtually everyone in town could testify to that.
@Mamadukes1953Күн бұрын
It’s a movie that’s why the charges can just go away ../
@PandaemoniКүн бұрын
@@Mamadukes1953 Of course it's a movie and so that is why it has such an unrealistic ending. They could have re-written the end of the Titanic movie to say that aliens rescued Jack from the sea...but that would have been unrealistic and would have raised a few eyebrows as a result. As a viewer we are supposed to willingly suspend our disbelief, but that doesn't mean we have to be open minded to the point where we can never question anything.

The Bible says God loves a cheerful giver and looking at this movie and seeing how it impacts and touched everybody's heart that is doing a reaction to this movie you can tell these people are cheerful givers because they're not giving with a grudging spirit they're giving with a kind spirit because they know how he impact their lives and what he did for them even though this may not be a true movie a lot of people can learn something from the movie
