Since they’re the uk DVDs, are they PAL pitched? (As in, sped up by 4% due to PAL being 25fps and Simpsons being animated at 24fps, thus the 4% speedup)

I don't think they are. I'd have to sit down and properly test them, but I've never noticed any difference between the DVDs and what's on Disney Plus...

Yeah, I figure it can be done with strong enough willpower and determination. You'd have to be willing to accept the risks of discussing the product online. If you keep the discussion between friends and people you trust, you should be good to go.

I'm just thankful they reprinted the PPG set. I was so tempted to get that 10th anniversary set, but those double-sided discs were serious dealbreakers for me...

Those double sided discs did my head in. I sold it on for like 200 quid a while ago. Glad there's now a better set for a decent price.

£200 for a shitty item? What a deal! 🤣 Yeah, the PPG set was pretty much the driving force behind this entire collection so I'm super thankful on how well it turned out. Single discs and at a more than fair price. I think it actually got discounted 10 bucks or so a week before release on Amazon...

Great collection! :D Hoping to get myself that PowerPuff Girls collection soon, was gonna comment about the PC/DVD Cartoon Network releases but I see someone else commented about them. Would you bother with UK releases if they were ever to come? Even though I have the complete(ish) Eds and Complete fosters I would still buy a UK release.

If they released a Complete Series set in the UK? If I don't have a Complete set? Yes. If I do have one? Maybe. It depends on price and if it's better than the American one. One thing I'm really not fond of is how all the Complete sets are region-locked...

Quite an impressive collection, my guy! Even though I didn't watch Cartoon Network growing up (I know, I don't know if I can look at myself in the mirror either), I'm still quite familiar with a good number of these shows. The only ones I don't recall at all were Whatever Happened to Robot Jones? (which I'm guessing is one of those more obscure CN shows from back in the day) and Evil Con Carne.

@@MikeNicholsonThomas You didn't watch CN? You disgust me 🤣 Yeah, Robot Jones is probably the most obscure show here. It had 12 or 13 episodes over two very short seasons and then it was gone. I don't even remember knowing about the show until maybe a decade ago and I never watched it until I got the DVD seen here. As good as it is, it's not the most eye-catching show on the shelf, so we can't really blame anyone who passed on it...

@@Gondarth Hey, just because I didn't watch CN growing up, doesn't mean I don't like these shows. I still remember watching your recordings on Recordable Fridays in 2017, and I rediscovered a couple of favorites, including Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls, and of course, Ed Edd n Eddy (that one's my fave CN show as well!)

Something I forgot to mention during this video (the joys of doing it unscripted): Billy and Mandy actually has official DVD releases, but it's only of the first two seasons and they are just as rare as Cow and Chicken and I Am Weasel DVDs, although thankfully not as expensive. They are still vastly overpriced, the last S1 DVD I saw went for about $70-80, so it's still pretty bad. It was legit cheaper to get a bootleg...

Have you ever thought about reviewing those CN 2007(ish) PC Games with bonus episodes releases, same with the Toon Foolery DVD releases? Great to see what's good and not so good with each release. Looks like the KND DVD is better than the sample DVD which I have, which contains I would say a poor selection of Season 5 episodes.

The only time I've ever reviewed PC games was in episode 3 of GT. I had thoughts afterwards that this video idea could've worked as the finale to Video Memories, and I probably could've done the Toon Foolery DVDs as well. Like I said at the end of this video, there's no clear limit to how far this collection can go...

These movies are fun to overthink. The Wolf-Man takes place in modern times, but then Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man seems to take place in the 1800s? What about how all the monsters dies in House of Frankenstein and yet somehow they're all back alive in House of Dracula, a direct sequel? Just to be clear, it doesn't take away from their overall quality. I can still sit down and watch these and have a fun hour. It's just fun to think about, especially with the Mummy sequels that supposedly take place in the 1970s/90s.

While I have a soft spot towards TATMR (and I don't mind the human characters in the film, Junior is my favorite one and even though I'm not obsessed with him nor his actor anymore, I still have a soft spot towards Junior and the actor that plays him), you do have a good point. Finding out about the hard truth about this film made me stop obsessing over it and helped me accept that it isn't perfect and the series with the trains as the main focus will always be better (the latter point I ironically learned from watching the infamous Thomas reboot, which had Thomas and his friends as the main focus unlike TATMR despite both productions having Toronto voice actors and being half Canadian). It made me regret being obsessed with the film back in my teenage years, and if I could go back to that time, I could keep the soft spot towards the movie (and Junior), but I wouldn't obsess over it and accept that it's not perfect and not everyone is going to like it.

Yeah, Junior was OK. I probably liked him a fair bit when I was a kid. Also, yeah, people care way too much about this film. It can be entertaining, the theatrical cut specifically, Neil Crone added a lot of personality to it, but is it an actual good movie? Good God no, not even remotely. I remember showing my friends the movie a few months ago, and they were so confused by the plot by the time Junior meets Lilly...

@@Gondarth If TATMR was an entirely different Thomas film that is more faithful to the movie, maybe Junior could fit as The Fat Controller/Sir Topham Hatt's 20-year-old relative who just wants to have fun and loves relaxing at the beach. He could also end up being close friends with Thomas as the film goes on.
